help going to my mums!

I'm going to my mums for dinner tonight. We've got roast lamb. I've said I want lots of vegies so no prob there
But wondered how do I work out potatoes etc as shell use Oil not spray ?

With potatoes, I tend to limit myself and then count maybe 2 syns per roastie. That's not accurate in the slightest but I can't work out the syns as my Mum will never measure how much oil she has used!! I can't not have at least 2 though- and at least I'm counting some syns rather than "tweaking".

Jez, I think you're on the right track - the SW book suggest 2.5 syns per medium roastie done in oil, or 4 for a large (on ee or green).

I have that problem when we go to my boyf's mums. I just ask her for boiled potatoes, and she is fine with that, it's not really any effort for her. She just doesn't mash my potatoes! And I enjoy them more than mash/roasties tbh.
