I am having such a hard morning and I am on the verge of giving up!! :(

I went out on sat night, had one shake during the day then had a homemade burger and salad for dinner at the restaurant we were at, didn't eat the bun so basically just protein and salad! I will admit I had alot to drink, cocktails and wine but got back on the plan straight away yest didn't drink my usual amount of water but stuck to 4 packs plus my veg.

Anyhow got up this morning and according to my scales I've gained 5lbs!!! Surely that's no a true reflection is it? It has put me on a total downer and I'm sitting in work desperately trying not to reach for the biscuit tin!!

Someone please give me a kick up the bum and some motivation!!

It's just water hun

Put the scales away for a full week. Get back into ketosis. Hide em in the shed or car!

Don't be disheartened hun. Stick to plan, make yourself a really nice oh plan meal and enjoy

It will all be worth it Xx

Think of it this way - if you give up now, you'll be further away from your goal if you let it carry on for a couple of days. I know it's easy to say, but like Rebekah (briliant name btw, I'm a Rebecca ;) ) said, hide the scales and just jump back on the wagon! xxx

Thanks ladies!!

Was on a total high after the weekend as got so many compliments about how much weight I've lost and how well I look and now I just want to eat until I burst!!

I will not give up I will not give up I will not give up!!

Gonna phone hubby and tell him to hide the scales before I get home so I can't even be tempted!

A burger is not low carb - it is made with breadcrmbs not to mention other things. If you want to eat low carb then have a steak or chicken.

Also, cocktails are full of sugar and fruit. They will refill your glycogen stores and knock you put of ketosis.

I am aware that the burger wasn't low carb, it was the best option in an italian restaurant full of pizza and pasta!! I also kno that by drinking I would knock myself out of ketosis it was a planned night out. I was just disappointed that in one night I thought I had gained 5lb and was looking for some support so I didn't throw in the towel and think "oh well I've spoiled it now so I should go eat 10 bars of chocolates!!"

Definitely don't throw in the towel - you will feel SO much better if you carry on where you left off - yes, going back in to ketosis will be a royal pain in the A$$ but it'll be worth it when you see the lbs coming off! :D xxx

Do not worry hun

It's just water weight and will be gone in no time

Give it a week back on plan, the hunger will pass in a few days

Ah sorry - I was under the impression that you didn't realise that you had a high carb evening from your post - especially as you said that you had only had protein and salad. If you were aware that you would be knocked out of ketosis then a 5 lb gain is to be expected and has been mentioned is mostly water weight. Not sure what else you expected?
