Hi Everyone, i'm new to this forum but it looks a great way to help me lose my weight :)
I've been dieting on and off for all of my adult life, and not very successfully! I'm 30 in 5 months time and my boyfriend has set me a challenge of losing 1 stone 8 lbs (2.5lbs a week) in 9 weeks and then we can book my dream holiday of 3 weeks in Thailand for January.
I've got 4 stone to lose overall and I will continue after the 9 weeks to get as close as possible to goal before the trip.

I started last Saturday and i've been an angel all week, I know its only Thursday but the scales haven't moved an inch and i'm scared i'll do my usual thing of getting disheartened and giving up.
I'm sticking religiously to 1200 calories a day, using myfitnesspal ap on my phone to track so i'm pretty sure its acurate as it scans barcodes etc. I've done 2 x 3mile walks since Saturday, one 30min swim and a couple of 1 mile walks. I'm taking apple cider viniger tablets and acai berry along with a multi-vit - drinking lots of water and at least 2 cups of green tea a day. I'm feeling great and have lots of energy but I just can't understand why the scales haven't budged :-( I've only had 1 glass of wine but i'm cutting that out completely now. I'm having a homemade smoothie every other day for breakfast too.
I've spent years doing weight watchers/ slimming world / atkins/ ipd / lighter life etc but this time i just want to count calories and excercise.
Does anyone have any tips for me or ideas on why the scales aren't rewarding my effort?

Thanks
Emma x

Hi Emma I'm in the same boat as you I have been doing 1200 calories a day using my fitness pal aswell as running 5k a day . I've done it for 7 days now and the scales have not moved I'm really upset ! I can't put it down to the diet either because last year after Xmas I did the exact same thing and lost nearly a stone in 2 months . I guess we'll just have to persevere and hope there is a big loss next week xx
