Hey everyone, thought id introduce myself. Getting ready to start xenical on tues off work then, so can be prepared for side effects. Really nervous about starting it, but excited too!!

I'm sure Ill have loads of questions and will be on here lots - hope u all dont mind!

I felt exactly the same but theres lots of threads to answer your questions plus i found it really good to look at the diaries!!

i wish you best of luck and if you fancy look at my diary .. its in my signature i've only started less then a month ago and have lost a stone so :D

Hiya, thanks for your reply. I've looked at your diary, your doing so well - hope I can get the same results when I start, you seem to be able to eat pretty much normal food.

Just worried about all the side effects, hopefully if i eat right then it'll not be too bad!

hi pamela,i just started under a month ago and ive had no side effects:D just try and stick to the 5g of fat or under per 100g rule and you should be finexxx

hey and welcome! side effects is a rubbish word for these tablets!! If u stay within the 5g of fat or under per 100g rule an no more that 15g per meal u will do fantastic!!

Tryin to make sense of the food labels now, im sure i'll get there. Althou not takin tablets yet, eating as thou I am. Hubby, had cod in butter sauce, boiled new potatos and veg ready for me. i was worried cod in butter would be bad - according to label its fine! Less than 3% fat per portion.

I imagine that this food label reading could become addictive lol.
Hope your all having a good fri night, im struggling to get a lively almost 2 year old to bed!!! argh the joys

Yeah it kinda does! hehehe

i sooo know what u mean on the 2 year old part! ive got a 3 year old and 18 month old! I make them go to bed every nite at 7 without fail hehehe

I had cod in parsly sauce and 'chips' for dinner the other day! Chopped a potato up n to chips and sprayed them with fry light and baked!! OOOOh it was amazing!! so creamy! i wanted to lick the plate!

My wee girl used to go to bed at 7.30 every night no problem, dont know what happened, think it was gradual and we didnt really notice, last night was a nightmare was 10pm before I got her down. Shes in for a shock tonight - 7.30 sharp we're going upstairs lol, shes an angel - but I want to use evenings when shes in bed to get on Wii Fit and it doesnt help that OH is nightshift so he cant really help out.

lol food labeling is addicted its funny coz i read everything on the packets and i notice people just banging everything into trolleys without lookin and i think wow i was like them before.. now i feel more in control.

yey, i'm getting excited about starting tomorrow!! Been really good since Friday been monitering all my fat intake and think I have a good idea of what good and whats not. Ive not weighed myself since the docs so dont know if ive lost (except the wii fit and it weights me 6 lb lighter, but thats not the best for accuracy!) I was struggling on Sat night, hubby is night shift and I was bored resisted temptation but was really fed up. Same last night, althou decided to go on wii fit for half an hour, by the time I'd done that i'd forgot about my cravings!

Bought a 2 litre bottle of water today and been drinking that all morning, must admit is makes a difference as normally about 11 im starving and Ive been fine today!

I'm not having butter/flora on bread cos its quite high in fat, bought extra light mayo and put a teaspoon of that on each slice - what do you think? Its 3% per 100g

thats a fab tip there!! i like to use different speadable things instead of butter/marg!

this morning i had a quorn sausage sandwich with tom ketchup on the bread!

When u starting to take your tablets?

and start a diary! .. its the best way to track your food .. so if any nasty side effects do happen (which from my experience they are not as bad as you are thinking!) you can look back and see where you've maybe gone wrong?

Hey, im starting tomorrow - so excited. Just hope they work for me, Im really putting so much hope and expectation into them. Dont see why they shouldnt think the majority of people been successful.
Ive been watching my diet since fri and exercising, needs to be a change of lifestyle as well as a diet this time. Ive done loads of diets before lose 3 stone within 6 months put 4 stone back on! Not this time ....... will keep you posted!! xxx
