Hi, I know I'm always asking questions sorry, it might be a silly question but I don't understand hidden carbs, how do you know they are there, what do I look for, x

To me hidden carbs can be where something is listed as having zero carbs , but it has 0.9 g for example . Also I use the phrase where u know something should be low or zero carb like meat or mayo , but some makes use fillers and that ups the carb count .

Hi, so I should be looking at the ingredients aswell x

To my knowledge hidden carbs refers to things that you wouldn't think has carbs in it the likes of sausages, meat loaf or the stuff marked as healthy options in shops, (they remove fat and bulk it up with sugar) so reading the ingredients on everything is vital. I've created a spread sheet which I fill out each day with the full spread of carbs, fat, salt, etc in it and have a section for regular stuff. I find it makes things so much easier to visualise each day as it's colour coded traffic light style so a glance can let you know if your in the right area or not.

I'm new to this so could be totally off the mark but hope this helps.
