Hmm, considering jumping back on one of the wagons... ??

bye-bigun!

Sensibly losing :)
Morning all!
I am toying with the idea of jumping back on the tfr train... still a little undecided so wondered what the opinions are. I lost a lot of weight myself (5 stone-ish) over a period of time and then found LT. I did LT for about 7 weeks I think it was and then had to do re-feed for an operation. I have lost about 2.5 stone, some of which being during and after re-feed. Have been following normal eating plan since stopping whereby I eat what I like but I am sensible to make up for it. I have been using the Tesco bars for brekkie purely out of habit now and I really like them too which helps so all of this together is helping to keep me in check.

SO, yes the scales are not going up.. but they are not going down as quick as I would like to. I had my head screwed on right and I SO badly wanna get to my goal size now that I have hit my goal weight. The numbers on the scales are not enough. I am currently in a 14 for most things but have fitted in to a sz 12 skirt which blew me away. I would love to be a size 12 jeans but I reckon I need another stone off to be that comfortably if I am honest as I carry my weight on my bum and thighs.

I am offficially not allowed to do LT so soon after my op but my doc has given me the all-clear and I am healed fine.. and I could be doing this diet online anyway if I needed to. I am sensible and i honestly wouldnt do it if I were not ready or able.

So, i can do LT with another pharmacy, or I could do Exante but worried i wont like it. (deffo shakes only tho for me)... I have also got a few tubs of the Tesco food replacement in the cupboard as planned on doing that while recovering but never got round to it. What would you do?? I want to get back on food replacement in some form as I want the big and quick losses... i dont mind adding in a meal (as such wiith Tesco etc) but I feel the need to do SOMETHING iyswim...

I SO want to be at my size goal and I feel so empowered right now knowing that I am so much slimmer than I was and that I can go out and feel normal in clothes - its such a buzz and I want to experience that as a size 12 too!! I went in to the shop yesterday and found a size 26 pair of trousers and put them on for a comparrison pic - they didnt have y old size 28s even in stock! I put my whole body in ONE leg!! Will post up later as the difference shocked me SO much!!!

So, in my position, what would you be tempted to do? Anyone got any pref over LT or exante for instance? Which taste nicer?? I LOVED the choc LT shakes and the strawb was yum too... how do Exante compare>>>??

Thanks for any advice! :) xxxx

My mate did LT and she's now trying exante... She prefers the flavours and the bars are better.. Not that they could be any worse lol

I would ask my doctor about started a TFR again if the specialist has told u not to... I don't think there should be a problem, and personally I would do it, but for health reasons and bring sensible just ask your gp...

Xx good luck

Hello! :) You are a face I recognise! How are you doing?

Thanks for that. I have asked my GP (shes lovely) and I have her support completely - shes been fab and is very pleased with what I have done. From a medical point of view I am absolutely fine but its the bloody LT 'rules' that stop me in my tracks when it comes to it being black and white! Hence why I was going to use another pharmacy so they didnt know. My own chemist told me 3 months until I can go back and they will serve me, LT Decreased that to 8 weeks after an argument and said that they will overrule them pharmacy as I am classed as a 'medical need' due to my back problems etc - but thats still 6 whole weeks away.. and taking in to account the loss weeks and then re-feed I really dont want it going on that long. I picture in my head a nice summer on foood, being sensible and enjoying a nice family life - and with these time scales I cant see the light at the end of the tunnel!! LOL!

SO tempted to try Exante but its such a lot of money I am worried I wont like it..!!! As for the bars, I think I would always stick to the tesco/asda ones anyway as they work out SO much cheaper and are lovely..

May go and see if I can get a exante sample or weeks worth etc and see how much . Do you pay postage too I presume? xx

Hey hun,
I am going to be honest and you may not like it!!! Sorry!
Basically I came of LT to early because I had enough! I got down to a okish weight on refeed and was happy but due to health problems now have put on 1/2 stone.
Ideally now I would like to lose 17 lbs. I tried exante a while back but it is so much harder the second time around! I tried doing 2 replacements and a meal but it is so hard. I can't really pin point why but was listening to a Jillian Micheals podcast the other day and she talks about vanity lbs when you have between 5-20lbs to lose. What she said makes a lot of sense!
You have gone this far and your body is happy and now your telling it to lose weight it doesn't want to!

You seem to have the right attitude and be doing really well lately. Could you not just carry on as you are? If your doc is happy you going back on tfr then go for it but I warn you it is really hard!
Good luck with what you decide and sorry for the ramble hun!

As for postage it is about £5 something ( can't remember exact!) Why not getting just shakes and use the tesco bars which is what I did because I hated the exante ones!

Hiya again... Lol yes I am a face from the past...

I am on day 3 and not having a problem, I know what to expect, I know what to do and I'm determined to get the losses again...

I'm not back on TFR cause I've put a lot of weight back on... I'm back on cause I stopped half way on my weight loss journey (doctor recommended that so skin and body could recover a bit better).

I here off lots of people that its hard to get back on, but I don't agree (sorry to everyone else). If you are as determined as the first time, and want the same results, and also know how your gonna react in the first week, and know about the water intake etcetc it should be easier for you to get back on it, than say a total newbie, who has no idea what there gonna feel like...

Hope you know what I'm trying to say here lol

Go to another chemist, I'm LT cause I like it And know it works, and if your the same do it, don't look back love xx

Hey Amanda,
I think it is easy to get back on when you still have a bit to go but when it is the last few lbs it is hard! Trust me!
When your bigger you still have the motivation to get thinner but when your at the stage where I am at now where I have lost a lot of don't look too bad it is hard!

Hiya tiger...

I agree it prob is harder then, thats why I said you need the same determination as the first time

Xx

Im a 2nd time arounder and Ive actually found it easier this time, maybe Im more determined this 2nd time around!

Glad your determined- determined Bev hehehehe! This diet is definitely about motivation and determination. The second time around at least you know what is coming and know that you are going to get good results!

I agree with Amanda, especially if you have the blessing of your GP!

Although, I hasten to add..............because I went out to dish up dinner for everyone else and missed Tigerlil's comments..... I came off about 10lb before goal to refeed for a holiday and have bounced around for 2 years within 10lb of my final weight. I was happy not to really go back to TFR because I was sort of comfortable and everyone told me I was looking great. However I wasnt quite happy and I agree with what Tiger says too. I know when I get back to 10st 5lb I will be rethinking again but this time I should have enough time before my hols to get nearer my goal!!!

Thanks girls :)

Agree with all thats said! I have known people think its easier & harder to get back on 2nd time around.. i guess we all have different outlooks on it all... it felt like a chore at first for me but when the results began showing I found it very exciting... and I have that level of excitement sitting within me now - I can almost touch a proper size 12 and that on its own from where I have come from is a huge achievement, beyond huge infact! So purely for that reason the buzz of it all has me chomping at the bit to start over and have that feeling again! I dont know if its a mental thing but I also feel SO sluggish and tired now I am back on normal food. I am still in my pjs at 12noon!!! And had a bad ngiht with the kids but before I would have been up dressed, house underway and a little bit of a buzz going on about me.. its gone. I feel like my mojo has buggered off.. I am constantly tired, feel heavy (but not in a weight sense iyswim) and just generally lost my fizz!... On LT i felt light as air, was full of beans and spent my time bouncing about.. i want that feeling back, like NOW!!! LOL! I am on lots of meds and prior to LT I had to sleep every single arvo... I stopped doing that on LT and was able to do more... I am now back to needing a sleep by about 2pm and if I dont do it out of choice it happens the moment I sit down! Fell asleep with boiling hot tea a few days ago!!! not good!!

i think due to the fact that LT have said no and my other pharm is so far away I am going to try Exante and see how I go. I figure I will need about 3 weeks or so on it and I am gonna try my best to NOT add food.. we'll see. no snacking this time and a nice quick goal so I can get back to the bit I like which is maintaining..
Hope to order something in the next few dys when the other half gets paid... then the fun will begin!

Amanda, good luck to you too!!!! Look forward to seeing you around and will look out for your progress :)) xxx

Thanks Hun, I also agree with the sluggish feeling...

Even while I've been off TFR there has been the odd day or two that I've had shakes instead of food... Like a quick detox... Great stuff lol
