holiday questions o/t!

Hi

Have you tried www.simplyyours.co.uk for tankinis they specialise in lingerie for more curvy ladies so most of their tankinis have underwires or secret supports. They also use proper plus size models - very refreshing to see what clothes look like on real women.

I really liked Lanzarote - I stayed in Playa Blanca which was very quiet. Its a quiet island in comparison to Tenerife, and there is no real high rise development - some mad artist who lived there convinced the government to enforce really strict planning laws so it didn't turn into Tenerife! There is a volcanic national park - and its amazing - like the moon! Organised day trip over to Fuerteventura by jeep - stopping at a lovely beach for a BBQ. Lovely relaxed holiday - hope you have a fabulous time

Sorry can't help with the kids - hard enough trying to occupy the OH on a long plane trip!!!!!

I haven't taken kids on a plane before, but used to travel a lot when I was a kid, with my parents. My Mum used to make us up a little bag of treats (with everything from sweets, mine always had a new barbie, books, cheap little games etc) and we knew we'd only be allowed them if we behaved up until the seat belt lights went off.....I used to spend so much time watching the sign and waiting, that I didn't even think about wriggling around or anything! And when the sign did eventually go off it was like Christmas!! ha ha! As a grown up I can see what a neat trick this was and will definitely use it on my kids in the future!!

Good luck and hope you have a lovely holiday!!

I've flown on my own with my two (both under 2 and a half  lol) a few times now albeit on shorter flights and they have both been pretty good all things considered. All the suggestions for keeping them amused are fab & we've used most of them except the wee presents which sounds great (and i'm keeping that one in mind for when we fly again in August :D) A little tupperware box of snacks is invaluable too.

I absolutely love Lanzarote - in fact its the only holiday destination that I could return to again & again. I've always stayed in Puerto del Carmen. What i like best about it as a resort is that it can be as relaxed and laid back or as hectic as you want it to be. A great mix! Yes the evenings can be a little cool & breezy so pack a couple of lightweight cardis or a pashmina.

As for Tankinis i was going to suggest BHS but that one Kimmie found is stunning  M&S also have some lovely ones up to Size 22

Happy shopping!

Hi Lisa - sounds like we could be "holiday" twins!!

I am off to Malta on 15th June - with hubby and my 18month old little boy.

I am now 14st 7 and size 20 - nearly 18/16 - hope to be by
the time we go anyway.

I have big boobs too - so often need different size top.

I have found some lovely tankinis in M&S. Also getting one
from bravissimo.

I am dreading the flight too as ours is about 4hours. But it is
at 7am - so my little man is likely to be still tired.

His favourite word is also "iya" so the flight could be fun!

My doctor recommended giving him a tiny amount of phenigan to settle him down and possibly him to sleep.

Will see. I am taking a couple of his toys, a teddy and some snacks. Dont think he will sit and watch a dvd or do drawing.

Hope you have a lovely time
xxxx

I took my daughter to Lanzarote when she was 14 months old and had no probs on the flight. Maybe take some new books too I've spent many a time on a flight reading stories and pointing out pics to my little ones, keeps them entertained for a while too.

hi lisa, Ive been to lanzarote before and found it really lovely lots to do and that loads of bars restaurants etc, we stayed in peurto del carmen.Didnt find it windy just a wee breeze which was ok still got tan the breeze helped :) make sure you take a cardi or a shrug for nightime. The teiguise market is brll make sure your there early as it gets very busy and watch your handbag. We found the flight long enough but im with most people on here portable dvd player is the way to go. Also new things/toys that hasnt been seen before maybe go to the pound shop and get a few things. Will prob fall asleep anyway. My wee girl is 3 and we brough her to tenerife with us and she slept most of the way.

Hi! I have flown with my wee girl to Tenerife on a few occasions (she is two this week) and although she is very active it has always been fine. I would agree with the suggestions above and definitely the DVD player and a the compilation Childrens DVDs are great as won't get bored with just one. A nurse friend of mine suggested a spoonful of Dozal before you board to help with Air Pressure and I have found it brilliant- as it has the added benefit of baby having a snooze! I would also bring a change of clothes for the plane and if child is getting restless changing in flight in loos passes time. Hope you have a lovely hol and remember that most of the people on the flight either have children with them or have had children and understand!
