    Hey everybody,

It was my weigh in day today, after a really good week I thought I did well, however managed to put on half a pound! I don't know about you lot but I get really disheartened when I maintain or gain, everyone at work says oh it's nothing you'll lose next week! But that doesn't really help me.

Anyway, hope you've all had a better week then I have.

These weeks are always the hardest to deal with. It doesn't mean you haven't been on plan 100%, or you must have cheated somewhere along the line. The scales aren't always a good reflection of what's truly going on as weight naturally fluctuates all the time and that's what you need to get your head around. I guess a tape measure is a better way of gauging the losses, or a dress or a pair of trousers that were too tight to begin with. We rely far too much on scales and when we see a gain or STS, we become disheartened and feel like "what's the point"?? Although I understand it's easier said than done, the sooner you can get your head around the need to move past this and not put all your faith in what the scales say, the quicker you can move on and carry on with the plan and refocus on why you are doing this and where you want to be ..... Hope that helps and makes sense. :)

I have had the annoying ridiculous undeserved gains where you just can't understand and feel like jacking it all in. However since I started tracking my cycle for the purposes of baby making a pattern has emerged. I gain weight when I ovulate, not when I'm on my period as most people expect. This has really helped because since I realised this every small loss or a gain I've had has been on the week around my ovulation and it means I don't feel like a failure.

If you know 100% that you are following the plan to the letter then it's worth having a look at your monthly cycle and seeing if there is a pattern of weight gains/losses. It will make you feel much more confident in what is going on with your body. Keep your chin up and persevere you will be rewarded for your hard work.
