how is ll different from cd?

They are very similar and equally as successful if you stick to them!!

  • LL costs more
  • LL has group sessions CD normally 1:1
  • More flavours on CD
  • Tetra bricks on CD (made up shake in a box)
  • CBT on LL
  • Medical form signed by a GP for all LL
  • Different plans on CD - some with food if you want
  • LL you have to have 3stones or more to lose
Think that's it!! Why not contact both LLC and CDC near to you and talk to both of them. A rapport between counsellor and client is really useful.

I cannot really speak for CD as I have only been and am on Lighterlife. With lighterlife you abstain from having regular food for an initial period of 100 days. Along with a weekly weigh in you also do CBT (Cognitive behavioural Therapy) and TA (Transactional Analysis) this weekly session is invaluable to me. After the 100 days if you have more weight to loose you carry on abstaining or if you have reached your goal you go into management which as I understand it slowly gets you back onto eating regular food, this also in my humble opinion is the most important part of the diet.

it does! im going to stick with cd because i dont like doctors and i like the thought of having more choice

I think you should seriously investigate the counselling. With CD it is very likely that you will receive no counselling. For me that was the main reason that I chose LL. I need the tools to change my life around. After all If I didn't want the counselling, I might as well eat slimfast and multivitamins and save a fortune. The Group sessions have been brilliant and are probably a major reason for my continued success. Please do talk to the local CD and LL counsellors to make sure that you are doing the right thing.

This is not a slight at CD at all which has achieved great results for many people, rather it is just to get you to think a little more about the kind of support that you might need when/if things get tough.

I've done both and I'm glad I started with LL because of the counselling and finished my diet with CD because of the variety. I have to say tho that the counselling is of very variable quality and it depends how good your counsellor is. Having said that, both great, life changing diets!
hi ll theres no food at all for 100 days, where as cd gives you yhe option i started on 1000 cals for 2 weeks, lost 9 then 4, then went down to 790 cals 2 weeks lost 4 then 2, now on add a meal enjoying cottage cheese and lettuce at moment lost 2 last week, gud luk in wich you choose
