Hi all, :wavey:
Well, as the title suggests, I've been lurking on this site for the past few weeks, before finding the courage to start doing CD. I've been on it for 1 week and 1 day today and I absolutely LOVE IT!
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their amazing stories, and the encouragement that people can get from here is fantastic!
My observations from the past week were that the first couple of days weren't as bad as I had expected them to be, yeah, I had a headache on the 2nd day but just popped a pill and carried on glugging the water - as I'd done Atkins a few years ago I was expecting the same hellish time in 'carb withdrawal' but it just didn't happen!
I've already learnt which shakes & soups to avoid (man, that leek and potato one did the oddest things to my poor belly!), and the biggest upside to me is that I'm now wearing a pair of trousers to work that I bought in the New Years sale and was too embarrassed to take them back because I needed the bigger size.
Anyway, after losing 8lbs in my first week I'm determined to carry on, but one thing that has amazed me is the number of 'saboteurs' that we surround ourselves with, people that virtually try and force sweets/chocs down your throat or tell you that the diet isn't safe (despite the fact that my doctor is overseeing it), so to everyone out there who is struggling a bit today, look out the window at the sunshine and picture yourself strolling around in the summer looking like a brand new you - because it won't take that much longer with this diet!!
Love and Hugs
