You must be excited :)

Nintendo Wii

I have got a Nintendo Wii,
I hula hoop, step, yoga, jog, ski etc most days.
Have also started Pilates and line dancing every week.
Just worried that exercise may make the muscles bigger and affect my weight loss!
Wii is great fun and makes exercise a laugh, you can do the exercises as easy or hard as you like and whenever you like.

Hi Scotsmist,
only saw this thread now, it did make me laugh as I bought one in Argus a few months back, it's a weighted one too, bought 3 regular ones in the toy shop for the boys as well to see how they get on. The one I have comes apart also and is quite big and spongy. I spent so long bending down picking it off the floor after just one quick spin on my hips that it was less hooping and more stooping in my case but that's exercise in its own right I suppose. I left it by the way side when the boys got off school but I should try it again, well I will do when the back issue clears up, perhaps after my hols. Happy hooping when it comes.
Doirin

hahah - you made me laugh Doirin..i was absolutely rubbish at all sports when I was a kid; probably got something to do with not doing PE as had a heart problem! So, my co-ordination and well, just everything about hooping is non existent! But, I am willing to give it a go....

Only thing is my house is a little cottage, so not much room in it, so the garden it will be! The neighbours will sure get a laugh, if nothing else!!!!!!!!

What we should do, is have a challenge after your hols and after mine.....see how far we can hoop without if falling down :)! Oh, challenges, they are good!!! So, September (get practicing girl)! here we come with our HoopFest !!!!

OMG, I used to have a huge yellow one when I was 3 years old!!!! The ones they make now are too light, (I tried one a few years ago in Toys R Us, much to the amusement of my OH!!!!) So a weighted one would be fantastic....WANT ONE!!!!!

IT HAS ARRIVED....at work!!!!

So, there I was in reception, with the two receptionists....It's MASSIVE...honestly! How the hell I am going to carry that on the train; well cross that bridge, etc, etc.

So, I was first to go! I thought I am going to make a right wally of myself...worse thing was, other people were coming out of their offices and watching...so, 1,2,3 - Folks !!!! I CAN HULA HOOP!! Where did that come from? I couldnt do it as a kid, was absolutely rubbish, BUT, I kept it up for a good few mins, and when if fell I was able to get if from my knees, and back up again.....

AMAZING, and it will definitely wittle down the waist for sure.

Only problem I was having with the bruises in my back at the minute it was hurting, but hell, I dont care!

I am thinking of keeping it in the office!! And I can do it at lunch time, and then the vibroplate at night...as I just know I wont have the time otherwise. But what a great investment....

It doesnt collapse though, I thought it did, but I must have gone for the weighted one instead..looked at that many.

Maybe I can try and get one of the girls to take a photo of me doing it and post it!!!

So, for all you thinking about it, I would recommend...£25 is nothing really, and I think it will give you hours of fun!!!!

Well, I was able to keep it up for 214 times the first attempt, and then I did it again for 300 but had to stop as I had to do some work ;-)

Decided to keep it in work, so I will do it at lunch time and whenever I have a few spare minutes.

It is such a good contraption and I think I may have found the ideal solution to getting the waistline trimmed....I really do!

Will keep you all posted as to how I get on.

Hi Scotsmist,
is now the time you tell us you moonlight as a belly dancer as you seem to be well able to keep it up from the get go. Keep at it, but if you think I am going into competition with you after that, you have another thing coming LOL

hahahah - must be the half Turkish in me :)!!!! My hubby teaches me every night!!!

Oh, I think a competition sounds good...come on Doirin!!!! Dont be a spoil sport :)

Hi NM
Not sure to be honest......I think the ones that are weighted are better. Apparently, the bigger they are the better they are because they move slower, so it is easier to use. I would see whether there are reviews on this one.

I dont want to say yes, incase it isnt suitable....maybe do a search on reviews on google for Ireland and see what comes up. Best to have a little investigation first before you go and spend your money.

Thankfully, I work on my own, so I have an office to myself, but because I work within a business centre, there are two girls on reception that answer all the other companies phones...so, it was them I was doing it with :)

One of the receptionists was going home at lunch for her camera, but she forgot it! Hopefully she will remember on Monday and I will get one posted!!
