Why Be Normal?
Back to food smells...
Hi --
I think this thread was originally sort of a confessional about weird behaviour relating to food while on this diet...
Well, I am one of those who after the first week of dieting really get into cooking.
We have so many left overs that DH "ordered" me to not make dinner tonight. LOL!!! It used to be that he got excited if I cooked dinner.
Anyway, last night's dinner was a Low GI recipe. He wanted to support me on this diet and needs to lose weight, too. So, I am cooking sort of South Beach for him and he lost 8 pounds the first week. He is in week 2 and I bet he has lost at least another 3.
Dinner was pork loin chops that had been cooked until brown over medium heat in a skillet (with a spray of non-stick olive oil). Then, I added 2 green apples, that were peeled and sliced into 1/4" slices. They were sauted with the chops over med low heat until tender -- and then I poured 15 mils of lemon juice mixed with 15 mils of honey over them and cooked them for 2 more minutes.... they smelled
HEAVENLY!!!
I served them with a green salad (and he used this spray Caesar dressing, I bought at Tescos) -- and some sweet potato fries (oven baked).
Both DH and DS LOVED the chops.
