I may lose some battles but I'll win the war.

Me chatting Noooooooo. I'm motivational on other people's threads sometimes. :D I'd just feel like a fraud being motivational on my own cos I've only lost about 7 pounds so far this year. Not exactly gonna set the heather alight with losses like that am I. Anyhoo I'm more interested in crafting and getting the house and garden sorted out atm well I will be once I'm free. And once the weather improves a bit. I'd break my spade if I tried to dig just now. Ground has been frozen solid for weeks. Some of the snow that fell a month and more ago is still lying around where it was deep. So bored of snow now. Want to see that fabled big yellow thing I've heard about in stories of yesteryear. :D Um yes S....U.... N I think it was called. :rotflmao:

Whats that sun thing you mentioned? Never heard of such a thing.

Well we will just need to try get some motivation back. I no it is hard at the moment, I could think of nothing worse at this time than to be out of a job. Do you have any options at the moment or are you looking? What is it you do? Hit all the websites, temping agencies - anything, something will come up.

I Thot the snow was gone nut looking out the window it is back again, I've not had it nearly as bad as some of the areas and looking at the news Arran has been severely battered, looks like some of their houses are almost buried.

Maybe the sun will make an appearance at some point, doesn't feel like in this lifetime tho!!! To think this time last year there was a heat wave!!

Morning (I wont say good!)

Already we have had heavy hail and large cotton wool balls falling. Not sure how it is now as my office is in the back of a workshop with no windows and not natural light!! I dont think that it will lie though.

I was horrified to hear on the news this morning about Arran and how the farmers have lost sheep and lambs that have been buried under the snow :( Surely they could have seen the extent of the snow and moved them into a barn or something - I mean the sheep were buried!

Sorry for that but i was genuinely shocked about this

I hope that the worst is over and any that falls now just melts.

Roll on summer!

I'm not really looking atm as my health is rubbish and I'm not sure what I would be fit for. Motivation wise I'm also not too worried about it atm cos my health is my main concern. Hopeing that time to myself will improve all aspect of life then I can start to look about when I'm feeling better. :D

I hope that S-U-N thing comes out of hiding soon!

Purple you are very motivational and always have wise words - I STS this week which was a bit disappointing as I have a BIG BIG BIG week ahead - but I took my measurements and I have lost an amazing 21.5cms in 4 weeks!!!

Have a great day x
A STS is good with your tremendous losses up to date. You are consolidating your losses and there could be all sorts of reasons for it. Salt intake and hormones would be my main suspects, closely followed by exercise. However your change in measurement is phenomenal well done. So probably some of the flab will have converted to muscle which weighs 3 tiomes as much so that explains your STS. :D

Morning pp :) i agree i need the sun to come out! Hav a fab day x
We had more snow falling as I came to work but nothing serious yet. :D I WANT SPRING. Bored of winter. :D

We have gotten off relatively light too weatherwise as only 2 days I've not been able to get to work. The fate of those on Arran is much worse with 5 days so far with no power. I would have thought that with Arran being at sea level it could not possibly have had as much snow as it has.

Re the sheep you'll likely find that the farmers don't have barns which are standing empty to move sheep into. The whole point of sheep is that they are rugged and bred to stay outside over winter. They are also not the smartest animals on the planet but sensibly they move behind hills and rocky outcrops and into valleys to get out of the wind on stormy days. Unfortunately these places where there is no wind is exactly where the snow drops out of a blizzard and lands in drifts. Hence the sheep are buried. I have in the past spent hours after a blizzard armed with a broom handle poking it into the deepest bits of snowdrifts hoping to hit something soft at the bottom so we could dig our sheep out. It is bloody hard work and the conditions are usually far from ideal when doing this but it's all worthwhile when you get the sheep out alive. Unfortunately the result is often a dead sheep even when you do manage to locate them. Similar to avalanche victims it's the lack of oxygen that does the damage and the sheer weight of the snow. We have been lucky this year with none of the drifts so deep that we lost sheep. Well so far anyway. :(.

I don't envy you working in a windowless place although it might as well be the same for me as I'm so far from any windows I can't really see out.

Oh to have some warm weather like we had this time last year. Although I'd happily forego the warmth now if we could guarantee a summer this year. March was the only heat we had all year last year or it felt like that anyway.

This time last year it was raining but warm, on 28th March last year it was so blistering hot i was in shorts and vest top, on 29th it snowed.

No, i just remember these few days last year cos it was when i met one of my fave bands, with it being odd weather it stuck in my head :p

That would make sense I suppose, I just hate the thought of animals struggling. Do you or your family own farmland? Is is just sheep? I cant imagine what farmers need to go through, they always seem to be on the move and out at all hours!!!

Meeting to go to!!

Yes I was brought up on a farm but don't tend to be well enough to be involved now. My brother runs it all now - beef cattle sheep and arable. It would kill me to work that hard for those long hours. Literally. And then the returns are not all that good. I think it's in your blood though. I find I notice growth seasons and harvest etc even though it's noting to do with me nowadays. :D

Hi pp. also fed up of the weather here I hate the cold :( should have been born in the Bahamas lol! X

Hi Jo. How are you apart from cold and sick of the weather. We had a couple more inches of snow overnight and it's been snowing off and on all day. :(

Me too - I am so bloody freezing - had to have a small bowl of curry to warm me up lol!!
Sound choice, that's what I've been having most evenings for the same reason. And horror of horrors radio said this morning that it was likely to remain cold for a further MONTH I cant take any more Noooooooooooooo.

So today I spent the morning at the hospital getting my usual check up with the consultant then my annual check for everything else such as skin cancer from the transplant coordinators. Such fun stripping off to be checked in this weather. No progress on the gut troubles and they are still saying that they are unlikely to be able to do anything. I sort of understand but I'm still scunnered by the lack of activity. :(

Hope all well with you xx

Minis bein a pain couldn't get on for 2 days xx
