Hi TC...sorry this is the first time I've been online all day. Yes I noticed that we had started it on the same day too. How has today gone for you? Have you been ok?
It did get easier after the first week definitely and once you get past each weigh in and the weight falls off it becomes second nature. You will really notice the difference in your clothes. I used to weigh and take pics in same clothes so that there was a good comparison.
I started LT at the beginning of January 2008 and did it solid until the start of March 2008, and I lost 2.5 stones in the first 6 weeks and another stone and a half in the following 6 weeks...after that I sabotaged myself on and off LT for the next 12 weeks but altogether I lost 5stones and then when I came off I didn't do refeed and gained about 10lbs stupidly. Then I fell pregnant and the rest is history on my hips!
This time I am looking at it in a whole new way. I have lost weight before doing WW and healthy eating but I have never lost as much as I did on LT. I know that I need to retrain myself this time as I didn't last time. I am only planning to do it for 6 weeks to get 2-3 stones off and then I am coming off it. I plan to do WW after and see where I go from there. I would rather do that than be on and off because I can't stop from eating. I have also read the post on here about refeeding already to prepare myself for that stage and have started collecting recipes from WW magazines to store away for after refeed. I am planning it all out so that I don't fail. I do not want to have to go through this again.
Hard though it is LT does work if you follow it right. The way I look at it is...it's a short period out of a long time of being overweight and well worth the hard work. I know personally that I could not sustain it long enough to lose all of my weight but I can try my best to do it as I have planned.
Good luck and I'll be keeping my eye out for your result and I'll post mine too
Marie
