I'm back!

Slimming down the aisle
Hello everyone! Hope you've all been good while I've been away for the past 2 weeks. Both in general and CD terms! There's over 70000 unread messages, not sure I can catch up on them all!!

Well I just got back from Italy this morning, ridiculously early. Had a few hours sleep but trying to now keep myself awake so I don't completely mess up my sleeping pattern.

What with Italy for 8 days and being off CD for a bit before it's now been 2 weeks off the diet. I didn't know about whether I could take CD stuff to Italy with me and to be honest, I thought about it and just decided that I didn't want to. I hadn't had a holiday in 5 or 6 years and I wanted to enjoy it, I didn't want to spend the whole time worrying about what I was eating and what it would do, especially as it was half board. The hotel food really wasn't the healthiest to be honest, disappointingly. There just wasn't really a healthy option that would have fit to 810.

We were fairly active while we were there though, did a fair bit of walking about and stuff. One day I think we walked about 6 or 7 miles throughout the day! Lots of walking around shops, through markets, along the beach etc.

I'm not making excuses, at all, it was my decision to not stick to it there, and I was prepared to pay the price, whatever it might be. But saying that I was a bit worried about weighing myself this morning! However the scales show that I've put on about 8lbs over those 2 weeks which isn't too bad I guess, I was bracing myself for much worse!

So now I'm back and ready to jump straight back on the CD band wagon. To be honest there was a few moments in Italy where I wondered whether I'd be able to come back to CD, but I can. I will. I am! I want to change my weight too much not to. I am surprised though by the way I actually really want to get back into it straight away.

I am quite disappointed about having put weight on, though I know it was inevitable, and I don't regret my decision. I do just feel like it means I've failed a bit and taken a step backwards, well, 8 steps backwards! But hopefully I'll fall back into it all soon enough and the lbs will start dropping off again.

Ketosis... ahh the dreaded word! Well, getting into it. I'm hoping that it won't be too bad, it wasn't the first time round. Just need to make sure I drink enough water! So I'm probably going to be around a lot the next few days catching up with posts and trying to distract myself from being hungry!

Well, that's an extremely long post so I'll leave it there!

Great to see you... and glad Italy was fab! Good luck with next few days... once you are in ketosis you'll be fine!

Welcome back, glad you had a fab time, hopefully the weight will come off quickly as it is probably water weight anyway....

Welcome back, glad you had a fab time. To be honest Caroline, I think you did the right thing to go and enjoy yourself. CD will be here where you're not and you have also done the right thing by getting straight back on the wagon - good luck. I am going on holiday, all inclusive, on 10th July and I fully intend to not diet when I am away. I too will pay the price when I come back and will be on CD the minute I step off that plane on Newcastle turf :)

Thanks everyone, your support is much appreciated! :)

It's 4pm and I haven't eaten yet, how will I fit in 4 meals today?! If I'm 5ft 9 do I HAVE to have 4, I do don't I? I often find it a struggle to be honest and would prefer just 3.

Oooh, I just thought of a thing I LOVED about my holiday! I bought some clothes from a mail order catalogue, didn't have time to find everything I wanted/needed what with exams to revise for too. But some actually ended up being too big! A halterneck top this which was a 20 was a fair bit too big. I realised I'd ordered the wrong size cardigan thing, but had been wearing it all week! It was a 16, though, it's a bolero style one so while it fits fine, I'm not at that point yet, at all! But still, was happy! Was amazing the difference in me that week, in what I wore, stuff I wouldn't wear at home, ever! I think CD is a big part of that, is slowly bringing confidence in.

Welcome back hon, glad you had a fantastic time, well done for doing all that walking and well done for jumping straight back on, that weight will be off in no time and you will be right back on track..

can see the end in sight!
welcome back! if you did lots of walking on hols, make sure you get measured as you mighthave lost some inches! the weight will just be water weight, im taking a week off (1 tetra, 1 bar and a meal) in 2 weeks for glasto, and am fully prepared to put a few lbs on, but will hopefully lose inches as it's so so much walking in the mud, its such good excercise. glad you had a fab time, and good luck getting into ketosis!
