Ipod nano help

I have one of the new nano's and i was wondering if there was a gadget that i could get that would measure the distance that i ran. There is a bit on their saying personal best at various distances but i have no idea how to enter times on them, so i figured that there might be a gadget that would help.

I know they have a pedometer in them but i think they still have this thing with Nike, basically you have to buy these special Nike shoes and they have something in them that syncs up with the ipod to calculate speed and distance. You can set it up so that you can set a distance goal or a calorie goal it'll tell you when you've hit the half way mark and the goal.
