Ireland- bia- a bit of craic!

Am joining, well have joined a kildare group, 2nd weigh in on Wednesday.
Would be great to hang out with you guys, tips, pointers, support.

Welcome on board :)

How are you finding the plan?

Oh dear! Didnt feel like cooking much so thought I was great with dunnes basmati express rice in microwave for 2 mins. I had some chicken & mixed veg. I thought all free now just after looking at packet of rice and see veg oil as ingredient so I checked it up and I got 18syns per pack. I'm really annoyed at myself now I have gone completely over my syns and I was keeping so well on track :(<img src="http://www.minimins.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=128540"/>

Don't let it bother you, a little slip like that won't make a difference this once, put it behind you and just be sure to check first in future xx

NewMe14, this can happen to all of us and Miss_Taken is right, you have been 100% on plan all week, you will look back on this as a learning experience

NewMe14, it's not the worst synnage you could have had, so I'd take it as a victory ;) When I don't feel like cooking, I can end up going off the rails altogether.

A handy low-syn quick-meal is a frozen baked potato from Aldi. They come in a bag of 4 for €1.99 and are 1.5 syns each on EE. 5 mins in microwave, throw on some baked beans and your HEXA of grated cheese. Total comfort food. McCains do a box of 4 too, which are only a syn each, but are dearer to buy. I lived on them for lunch over the cold winter, with fruit and/or side salad.

Sorry I've not been on much, hectic at work and home. Have to head to Dublin tonight- Thurs for some work meetings, so had to W/I last night. Very pleased to report a 2.5lb loss. I was very careful sticking to plan over the weekend, so it paid off.

I've 1.5 lbs to get my 2 stone award, so going to try to smash it this week, looks like Paddy's Day will have to be a quiet one!

My consultant raves about the McCain's potatoes, apparently they are worth the 1 syn per potato, I must try them but then again I cook potatoes every day and they are free so why use 1 syn

Well done on the weightloss coughdrops, I can understand why you will have a quiet Paddy's Day, you want that reward next week, keep up the good work

My mam was saying the same about buying frozen spuds, sure wouldn't you just throw one into oven ( I mainly work from home, so could put one in and have it ready for lunchtime) but we don't eat a lot of potato and when I try to microwave a "proper" spud it never works out properly. So for 1 / 1.5 syns I go with convenience. Totally agree though, if I was making potatoes daily anyway, I wouldn't bother.

I agree with your mum and I think for that reason alone I wont even buy them, difference with me and you is that I eat potatoes every day and sometimes twice a day and it doesnt bother me to wait a little while to have my favourite sw chips (made in the actifryer) and in between have a mullerlight yogurt or a banana.

Just want to say thanks a million for all the support girls I felt so awful last night after my rice incident! I won't be letting that happen me again it just goes to show you never assume something is free! have my weigh in tomorrow morning so hopefully I will have lost something & ye will be glad to hear I am going to stay for class :) I like the sound of those potatoes for lunch I might get them tomorrow we don't cook potatoes much here either. It's great all the ideas everyone has too :) I've just had my dinner & all my water for today! Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather

Hi all, hope everyone is well this week, didn't get on last week with trips to hospital etc. Down 1.5lb tonight sooo delighted, thought it was a bad week with the travel and all but I guess the soup I made up last week really did the job lol. Anyway hope everyone gets the results they want this week xxx

NewMe14, I have to be honest here and say I have made the same mistakes BUT I have learned from them, my first five months were not so great if that is a word for it, I have no problem showing you the back of my book and show you how up and down I was, it wasn't until July that I got strict with myself but looking now I value the first few months because I made mistakes and I learned from them and a lot of people who had lost a lot of weight have now left and put on all the weight and more, what is important to me is to try and live this life forever, this kind of freaked me out but one friend of mine said what you eat in sw is normal run of the mill foods that we all eat and then at that point you realise that you can maintain and still enjoy life to its fullest. Now tomorrow, I bet you will be posting on here that you got SOTW again and glad your staying for class yayyyyy

Well done on your loss monkey theory that is fab.

Thanks for all the tips Orla you are right I want this to be a way of life and not a diet.

I lost 2lbs this week! :)

Good woman, that is a great loss and I can see from your stats your not far off the 2st, wow

Looking very good my dear, well done

Welcome back, not easy to come back after been away a few years and yes you can do it, you have already begun by coming on here

Welcome back farmer me! I just joined in January so still getting used to minimins and sw!

What's everyone having for dinner today? I need some inspiration!! I have leftover potatoes from yesterday!

If you have the lean mince and lots of vegetables then a classic shepherds pie would be lovely and I always put a rich beef stockpot on hand too (if your not into salt then dont use this as it is very salty but I love my salt and this is free on SW)

That's one of my favourites. I had no mince but have some in freezer so going to make this tomorrow! I have stock pots too.

Have you saw the new stock pots? I think there flavour pots? I saw them on tv but consultant had them at class on Wednesday and she had tried them and said they were nice but I think there is 2 syns per pot
