Is there a bit of a pattern to the weight loss each week?

I'm becoming a bit obsessive about watching peoples weight loss each week lol! It seems that most (not all) experience a big drop in the first week (makes sense) and a much less, often slightly disappointing one in the second. Then it seems to ramp up again with a greater weight loss in week 3. Or am I just being overly hopefull (having just had wk 2 weigh in) :)
 
3.5 lbs is a great loss! yes some people do have a big loss on week 3 I dont know why but I have also seen this. But you should end up dropping about 3 lbs a week as a woman from here on in. hope this helps.xx

It might have something to do with women's bit'n'bobs and water retention :)
