is this due to being overweight?

hi, ok I have an overweight grandmother who now is going to have a second hip replacement, but she has an irregular heart beat, puffy ankles and she was suposed to have electric theropy for her heart beat but the doctors said that they wern't happy with her hemoglobin blood count.

I was wondering weather the hemoglobin count is bad because she is overweight?

also should I just tell her she is overweight and needs to loose a bit in a kind way?

I think the doctors will do that hun! They don't mince their words and if they think a patient is overweight and needs to lose some then they will tell her. If she tells you that the docs have told her this then you could just say something like, well I guess it wouldn't hurt for you to lose a few lbs.
