a new way of living!
Hi all,

after a very successful time on Lipotrim, and maintaining on cambridge (with food plans), I am thinking about changing to WW.

I have restricted myself quite a lot on total food replacement plans, and now i want to eat what i want and still lose weight (sounds like the ad!!)

can i just ask, any other vlcd/tfr people now on WW any advice thay have, anyone with under active thyroid for advice and also - can you have sugar free stuff? like diet coke and sugar free mints etc??

can someone post a link to ww snacks that are available now? there used to be loads of them when i did it a few years ago.

thanks in advance :)

I was on CD doing SS, moving to 810. I started to find it hard to stick to 810 on a weekend when in my final stone so I swapped to WW ( which I followed did years ago ) which allows me to have a more normal diet. I'm not going to the classes or anything, just following the points system

Last week I lost 7lbs amazingly and I'm doing well this week too. I was expecting to gain after CD for the first week but I didn't and it's so nice to be eating Pasta and bread again !

I've found I haven't cheated once since going back to WW and eat less than I can, yet towards the end of my CD journey I just couldn't stop snacking and being naughty on a weekend

I'd do CD again in a heartbeat though if I had to lose a large amount again ( not that I intend to gain of course )

hiyaaaaaaa :) i havent done any other diet other than ww but in terms of the snacks if you go to the website of were u shop and enter weightwatchers it will bring up all there products but 2 b honest i very rarley by he weightwatcher ones i usually go with tescos own lighter choices they have the weightwatcher points on the back 4 u and r just as scrummy ... cheaper also!!! i just bought a ww calculator of ebay which has been amazinggg means u not restricted in anyway if u choose 2 go with the points plan sugar free things like jellyand diet drinks r 0points which is brilliant u can eat anything on ww as long as u stick 2 ur points xx

today is my 1st day on ww after 22wks on cd so cant answer any of your questions as yet, but good luck hun.xx

Hi I moved from W8 to weight watchers 2 weeks ago - 2nd weigh in tomorrow.

First week I lost 2.5lbs but didn't eat all my points and have stayed away from a whole lot of carbs really.

There is loads of WW stuff in the shops right now - so its dead easy to stick to and so many of the supermarkets have good for you type ranges that work out really low points.

If you look on the food diary sticky and the other sticky that talks about points values you will get a good idea of what you can have.

It is nice to eat normal food again - I loved W8 for the quick start it gave me but don't see it as a long term thing for me anyway.

I do go to classes and hopefully it wont be too long before I lose my last 6.5lbs and then I can go free!!!

Good luck
LRO xx

Good luck with WW and well done on your loss so far xxx

thanks everyone, this was really helpful :D

I think i will give it a go. i popped my head in the door of the local class the other night, i cant get there for the wi, but stayed to have a chat with the leader. she was lovely. although there were a few faces that i remembered from when i went years ago and they were still there the same weight, still talking about it and still not doing it! so there is another class a few miles away that i'll have a look at too, it maybe a more proactive group, rather than mostly the local wi women having another cup of tea and jam sarnie social meeting. no offence intended towards them, but i feel i need a group that is moving towards their goals rather than just socialising and saying 'ooo this is great, but i can never stick to it because (insert one of various excuses)' and just turing up for a jolly.

am i being mean here? hope not!

the other option is to do it online and use forums for support, i found the mini lipotrim forum very useful, and lived on it for 14 weeks! it worked so i guess its worth considering.

I am so easily influenced by others cheating, I am scared to go to a group and listen to people cheating and still losing weight, or not, either way it makes me stray!

well done to all of you so far, and good luck with the rest of the year.

thanks for taking the time to reply. :)

a little mean there maybe ;). I think it takes a lot of guts to keep going to meetings especially if your weight loss journey isnt going as you originally planned. It doesnt matter what class you go to, there will always be people who lose all the time, and there will be people who dont for one reason or another - yes you're right, there will be people who go and treat it as a social meeting but at the end of the day everyone pays their £5.50 (or has worked hard enough to reach goal and deserves the free classes) and so really everyone deserves to be there.

I think whatever you do there will always be something that will make you stray but you have to tackle those problems head on, not try and find ways around them. I dont go to classes now because of funds, but lack of funds doesnt stop me from doing WW. People offer me cake and sweets at work even though they know i'm losing weight and yes there are people who intentionally try to sabotage you along the way, but what you have to do is be strong and tackle those problems - for instance i threw a bowl of water at a girl who wouldnt be quiet about the uncle bens curry freebies at work the other day, even though i had asked her nicely to pretty much "bog off" LOL :p probably not the best way to handle it, but she knew it was playfully and at the same time she knew to stop because she knew i would seriously refill should i have to :p

good luck with whatever you choose anyway - minimins is a great source of support and if you feel you can do it without having to go and get weighed each week then do it - i think £5.50 in your pocket each week is better than handing it to someone just to get weighed. You could always put that towards something else to spur you on - buy yourself a target dress, or a gym membership maybe :)

thanks BW, you are right. maybe by going they are staying the same rather than gaining, and if they stopped they would get bigger. (they are not at goal already, they said they wanted to drop two dress sizes). the gold members there were helpful, one lady helped me see something in perspective better. she said that even now she never has a blow out, as it would undermine all her previous hard work, and she has more self respect than that. it was a harsh view she expressed - but a really good point that made me think. I may have been having a frustrated day and feeling weak.

must be strong! done it before, I can do it again.

i'm trying another class tonight, i think a fresh environment will be better, as i wont know anyone, i wont know who has been going for years ;)

at the moment i am happy to have kept off the weight i lost on LT, but now ready to lose more. i'll drop a post tomorrow about tonight.
