Just starting Lighter Life (2nd time round) - any buddies?

Woo hoo, a good week all round. I lost 5lbs tonight, which makes up for last week, and hit my first stone, so over the moon. Definitely worth the effort.

Hi Chlo, I'm so happy to know your doing fab. Really proud of you. I've realised some weeks just slow right down so just got to know that it won't be every week and that's just how the human body works - especially women! It can de-motivate at times but not this week- hey 5lbs !! You ain't playing girl!!

Fantastic loss again, you have done amazingly well. No one can say this diet doesn't work if you put your mind to it. Hoping for a good loss tomorrow, though feeling a bit bloated so not sure how it will pan out. Just took some Psyllium Husks in hopes they do the job. The not so nice side effects of the diet

Yea I definitley agree with you there. I use ducolax now and again which really helps. Just make sure I ain't got work the next morning. Lol. The packs often cause me to pass not so great smelling wind at times(sorry), however the ducolax clears that up too. Good luck for your next weigh in ! Today was a bit tuff for me, felt extra hungry this afternoon not sure why, guess I had not drank much water today ... Was drinking more coffee. Not good. Better get my self back on track. Let me know how u do ;-)

Grrrrrr 1lb off. Though making excuses for myself I was wearing my jeans instead of linens (the summer wardrobe is on it's way out) and I lost another lb this morning. But it really does demoralise when the loss is so low. Saying that a loss is a loss and last time it happened I had a biggie the following week. I have a target for 1 stone in 4 weeks set in the meeting so fingers crossed. Also have a target to drink 2.5 litres a day and have managed to fail that already, I really do struggle with the water. Going to stop being negative and think about all the good things I have achieved this week.

Might go and have a laxative you never know that could be another lb. ;)

I know how you feel but remember some weeks may be slow then up again. I always try to wear light clothes when get weighed as I think it makes a difference. Weekends r really hard for me. Been wanting to pick at things which isn't good- small bits of cheese, slice of chicken... All these temptations. Today again I've been extra hungry, my hubby stopped me going nuts and gave me a vegetable bullion broth to drink (veg stock cube in hot water) which is about 10 cals it really curb my hunger which was a life saver. Maybe as totm week for me I've been going hay wild - if I keep messing about I will be gaining a lb or two so I understand. Don't give in - keep on track, drink that water, 4 packs a day no snacking = weightloss (I tell myself) - hey 1lb is a loss - I hope I lose 1lb at least next week as so far the scale ain't budged for me since Tuesday night...keep going Hun we will do this!!

Only two pounds off for me again, but I am not demoralised as my scales show a 4lb loss and I am going to believe them. I never seem to lose much on the official scales. Great loss for you again, well done. I need to get my head in the game, I have had a few nibbles this week. Tomorrow I will not pick at anything, one day at a time to be 100% this week.

I am going for a 5lb loss this week.

Well done on your loss. I know what you mean about the nibbling - you won't believe it - today I ate a chocolate cupcake - I know.... Not good.... National cake day hubby brings home these cupcakes it was starring at me and I gave in! Oh well. Tomorrow is anther day - only had one though, hopefully doesn't throw me off too much. We will be stronger! At least scales going the right way

One cupcake in 6 weeks can't be bad... but sssssh I never said that out loud.

Hope you had a better week than I have. Kinda strayed once or twice but was kind of planned as too many family events. Didn't go crazy but didn't stick to LL completely. Now week over getting back on track strictly before I damage all hard work done so far. I got a few extra packs so may delay going for a weigh in on tues and hit that runnin machine extra hard to compensate.

I need to see a loss by Friday no gains! Been dancing and moving a lot so hopefully that helped. Stayed away from alcohol which is a plus. It's hard sometimes sticking to this plan 100% when having to socialise but I have realised I don't want to indulge like I use to. I'm thinking a lot more so something has changed. Back to 100% LL to melt this flab! It's nice to air your thoughts somewhere it really does help :)

Same as me. I have managed to maintain, but by rights I should have put on, no major binges but lots of low cal meals. I have decided not to do LL anymore, purely a money thing, I have had a few emergency outgoings and can't justify spending so much more on LL than Cambridge, so I am going back to the Cambridge Diet. It shouldn't effect my diet as they are pretty much the same, I just won't get the counselling, and I wasn't convinced it was worth all the extra money. Saying that I do like the 4 packs a day I got used to on LL. I'll see how it goes, I can always go back to LL after Christmas if I need the counselling.

I have 3 weeks until my birthday and it is a big one, so 3 weeks 100% is the goal. One day at a time and I could have a stone off by my birthday, if only. I need to get my head back in the game.

I'm thinking of leaving my group as no one left in it. Was only 3 of is initially another was meant to start but never did. I was newest in group. Now one leaving to go into maintenance and the other never turns up. So basically it just me. Plus counsellor not really that great. Feeling like I'm throwing money away for useless counselling. Last week it was 2 of us and all con seller spoke about was food on maintenance. Nothing to help me at all. Usually they spend most of the time chatting about kids, school & packed lunches .... Time to find another group I think...

That is a real shame. My group was actually quite good, there were 6 regulars and then a couple showed up last week who used to be regulars but hadn't been for a few months. I can imagine it isn't great with one or two people. Does she only do the one session? Mine has different nights she offers and she does two locations so there is plenty of choice. I guess it just depends where you are based.

I would look to see if there is another session, it is a lot of money to get nothing out of it. In my area there are at least 3 counsellors within a 30 minute drive so loads of choice. You are doing really well so I would stick with it.

Hi hope all is well. I have been sticking with it, starting new group on Monday-35lbs loss to date from 225lbs to now 190lbs which I'm really pleased with.

Been logging my calories on fitness pal and doing cardio when I can.

Got one more stone to lose before I go on holiday so not giving up! Hope all is going well with you.

Hi all,
I've been back on the programme for a week. Have kept the weight off for just over 3 years and then within a year I piled on a stone and a half. Gone back onto a total programme and week 1 I have lost 11lb. Which is a lovely loss. I had shakes all week last week. Ive been told I can have as many bars as I like. Has anyone been told this? I thought this impacted on weight loss? I would really love to chat regularly to people on here as I last found it a great support xx

Hi JLK, lovely to hear you lost 11lbs excellent job! I was told I could only have 2 bars max per day by my counsellor so I wouldn't eat more than that - it has 25 calories more in each bar than the packs so it will add up if eat to many. I had 2 bars from beginning per day and lost 11lbs my first week also so does work. Keep the good work up. Keep us posted :)

Hello Goldenfemale, Sorry for the late reply!! Knowing that is helpful! I have to admit I did have three on one of the days but I was stuck at work for 14 hours and it was the easiest solution. I've been struggling a little thislast week to keep motivated as I only lost 1lb last week. Which does mean a total of 12lb in two weeks but still when I had been to two parties and had kept completely on the programme I felt like I deserved more of a reward. If you understand? I'm hoping for at least 2lbs this week but I feel like I am being too optimistic. I am just desperate to get the next 9.6lb off so I can just about fit into my old clothes. Desperately short of winter clothes and don't want to buy new. How has everyone weeks been?x
