Katycakes Won't Give Up...

Hi KC,

They (whoever they are) say that all the vitamins are in the cooking water -- so, if you can tolerate it, good.

6 pints of herbal tea... wow! But, then again - I probably drink 6 pints of coffee a day.

Is KC's problem with worms related to her veggie status?

Now Heston Blumenthal serves up worm pizza to children's hospital patients as he slams their lack of protein

Opening up a can of worms: Chef Heston Blumenthal's latest creation proved a hit with his special diners
Why you would want to put them on a pizza is anyone’s guess.
But worms are the latest culinary craze to be served up by Heston Blumenthal – and they’ve gone down a treat.
The owner of the award-winning Fat Duck Restaurant – whose previous creations include snail porridge and bacon and egg ice cream – fed the worm pizza to children at Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool.
He said he was horrified at the stodgy food on offer at Alder Hey, Europe’s largest children’s hospital, and that worms provided much-needed protein to the young patients.
‘The kids loved it’, he said. ‘I was amazed that the NHS doesn’t view food as medicine. Not just for nutritional benefit, but also for pleasure.
‘The kids’ choice was pizza, a thick dough, a thin layer of dried cheese and tomato on it, with potato waffles and baked beans. Where’s the protein?’

Hi KC,

HeeHee! Are you going to boycott your own diary, now? ;)

MINNIEMEL!!!!

NOOOO! Just NO. OK? NO.

There will be no more of this ukkiness or I am emigrating. And Heston... well, I don't rate the guy at the best of times, but I have to ask, WHO WAS THE SICK ONE HERE? If he came up to my sick child with a worm pizza I would batter him with his own ladle. And then lightly fry him, and serve him to the children with pasta.

With a side of flava beans? ...KC have you been watching "Silence of the Lambs" again?

lolololol worm pizza - Yummy ;) haha x

I used to keep pet worms in matchboxes on the mantlepiece, after a few days they went all thin and crispy and my Mum would have a fit when she wanted a match....

Katy, come back!! :fear::ignore: xx

Heheheheh, how long was it before your mum realised she wasn't striking a Swan Vesta? :D

Had a big walk as planned earlier, it was great, uphill and across country, with tea and chat in a little gingerbread cottage on a hilltop in the middle of it... perfect. So good exercise and good for the soul, literally an on-top-of-the-world feeling.

Had a slightly sore tummy earlier, and not hungry, so had a 4th shake rather than an 810 meal. Feel better now, but a bit bloated, not sure why. CDC WI tomorrow, not expecting much but as long as it is a downward direction I will be content.

Tired now but almost finished the artwork, should have it finished in the morning.

The walk sounds wonderful Katy and as you rightly say, very uplifting for the spirit. I love it when I feel as one with nature, especially a roaring sea.

I am sure your WI tomorrow will be fine. It is a good place to be though to be content with even a small loss. I'm not quite at the contentment stage yet with my small losses but getting there. When you add up the total sum - 10lbs in my case - its pretty great. Just want my ticker to hurry up and say **lbs lost 10lbs to go :D I'll feel like I'm within touching distance then. I pray for some patience!!

Have a good day, and well done on the artwork almost done xx

Good Luck with your weigh in. If the scales haven't shifted, it might mean that your water is up and your fat is down... and you'll show a loss when the water drops. Also, you have been walking a bit, so your "pumped muscles" might lead to scale misread. ;)

DAY 35

OK... scales dropped to 12st 2 today. OK, it was 12 st 2 & 3/4 but still... yay!!! Very happy about that. I WILL get to those pesky 11s before too long!!!

CDC came. On her scales I was 12st 4, and that is still a stone loss since starting if I go by her stats and a 6lb drop since I last saw her (3 weeks ago). I am happy with that, and do think that 810 has helped get things moving again.

Funnily I am not very hungry today either and was thinking of having an SS day, but CDC suggested another week at 810 before dropping down - not sure what to do. Might see how I feel later, and I do have tofu & cottage cheese to use up so maybe a few more days at 810. Or maybe just choose between the two plans to suit my mood?

Feeling happy, and hopeful, and finally starting to believe that CD is going to get me to goal this time.

Hope everyone else is fine, and that you all have a fab Wednesday. Back to work for me now!

Wow, well done on your loss Katy, and congrats on the stone.... I haven't made that yet, but I did lose 1lb this week which was good because I went straight from CD to WW and it is my retain water time of the month, hopefully it will drop by slightly more next week.... my daughter lost 5lb in the week though, although she does weigh 5 stone more than me and has loads to lose....

Might be worth alternating between SS and 810, depending on how hungry you feel, better that than feel like you fail on the days you are hungry and need that evening meal....

Fab news on the scale drop hun, excellent work by you!
Have another fab week hun
xx

Wooohooo!! for the scale drop :D Well done hun :D x

The walk sounds lovely too! xXXxx

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

DAY 36

Scales say... 12st 1lb!!!!

No idea what I did to deserve that, but very, very happy, here is the little whoosh I have been wishing for... and in time to restore my faith in CD which clearly works in mysterious ways but who cares, because IT WORKS!!!

And better still I know I am well and truly in my zone now and happy with what I am doing, the cravings and deprived feelings have packed up and left and I feel I can keep on for as long as it takes... I didn't expect it to take me 30-ish days to get to that point, but certainly since the end of last week things have felt so much calmer and more positive.

So... out today, first to a library protest and then driving dd to orthodontist, so work will have to go whistle unless I can get some done while sitting outside library in the cold, with my laptop! You never know. Planning my 810 meal with a friend after protest, egg salad at cafe in next village. Have had my porridge and all is right with the world, for now at least.

Wishing everyone a great Thursday, in a rush today but will catch up with diaries tonight.
