    Hi just done a test on my ketones and the stick turned burgandy red is this good?

    does this mean Im really in ketosis, I am on day 14 so I hope so?

    Any guidance would be greatly received :)

    should be pinkish if its dark means your dehydrated drink some water but yes your in ketosis xxxx

    sorry 2 hijack your thread but i was givin some stix last night from cdc but nothing to compare colour to, the colour went a sort of red grape cranberry juice colour, so does this mean im not drinking enough water? im already drinking 4 litres a day, any help would be greatly appreciated x

    if its dark colour on the stick yeah it can mean your a bit dehydrated but to be honest i think your drinking plenty of water

    Don't worry about the colour of the stick too much. The only thing to look out for is if it turns colour at all - then you know you're in ketosis, and in the full swing of fat-burning mode.

    The strength of the colour is dependent on a number of factors. As has been pointed out, if you're a bit dehydrated, there's less water in your body, so obviously the concentration of ketones in the water you expel is going to be higher. It can also be higher just after you've done exercise, because your body has been burning fat for energy.

    In summary: there's not really a 'good' colour or a 'bad' colour. If it's changed colour at all, you're doing it right. :)
