Losing motivation at wk 7 :(

Hi everyone,

I started reading this page when I started my diet but have decided to make a page just to get some feedback or encouragement. Everyone's stories on here has been really egging me on but I'm feeling my loss slow down and it seems like a lot of effort for not much reward now :(

my loss so far has been -

wk 1 - 9lbs
wk 2 - 9lbs
wk 3 - 4lbs
wk 4 - 7lbs
wk 5 - 4lbs
wk 6 - 4lbs
wk 7 - 4lbs

I know it's still great to get 4lb off a week! but it is just so difficult to keep this up, and im not getting the rewards of 9lbs/7lbs i was getting at the start. i'm not sure will it be 4lbs every week from now on? i just feel i have such a long way to go. i have been avoiding every get together with my friends for the last two months because of this and it's just getting me down that it is taking so long. :(

Does anyone find this good/bad/normal?

I know how you feel... this diet is very anti-social... but wine/socialising has got me in this mess lol....

4lb off is still great!!!! If you stop you'll feel awfull.... know how you feel i still have so much to lose!!! But its better to be on the way than doing nothing !!!!

Good luck to you hun!!! Try some swimming... i think thats how i've kept my Losses up!!! x

I read this and i felt like u jade taken the words right outta my mouth. I keep telling myself if i hadn't of started this and done nothing guaranteed i would be kicking myself next summer trying tp squeeze my blubber into a pair of jeans and i know for a fact i would probably be even heavier....we started this journey so only seems right to finish it...4lbs off chick is way better than 4lbs on!!"keep going ur weightloss journey so far is superb xxxx

Remember that the 4lb you are losing every week is pure fat, it is only another few months of your life before you get down to your ideal weight. It will make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself for the rest of your life.

Thank you! That does help. I'm just hoping I'll be down enough by Christmas :/

What are you all planning to do if you aren't finished by then?? I'm starting a new Uni course in 3 wks and im so nervous about the lunch time situation.... like i dont want to be a freak? but i dont want to break my diet because i feel that if i break it now, even just the once, i will feel like giving up!

Well.. I felt the same. And people used to say “you will get there with no time”. I am already here for 2 months and now I agree with them. For me the most difficult time came after 1st month. I remember that Deezer was helping me out with others. I went through liportim posts to keep me motivated. I had to concentrate on something else than diet or food. Just kept myself busy. I have spent some time to do research about diets for a life. Found the one I want to do after getting of the Lipotrim. Now when I am missing food, I think about my holidays, and clothes that I will wear. Two weeks ago I found them under my bed packed and dusted as I was sure I will never wear them again. Still month to go but on most of them I can zip them (well can’t really wear them as they are too tight but I am sure that in about month time I will wear them without any problems) SIZE 14! Can’t believe. This is motivating me so much. I have started with size 22!

We all have ups and downs without motivation. This is why Minimins is so important to all of us. You shouldn’t feel alone and if you do, come and talk to us. You will realise that we came across the same problems as you and you may find solutions. Don’t give up and look at the successful stories and believe in yourself, because you can make it as well!

Make pictures of yourself - you will see a difference in no time. Keep it in your wallet or on the fridge. This helps as well. I have one on my mobile :)

You're right, it IS good! Thank you for the encouragement! Even if I only get off 4lbs a wk, it will take me 19 more weeks.. But I have seven done! So it's like.. I'm a third of the way there?

Maybe it's a bad idea to look at it in terms of time, and just take each week as it comes!!

I'd love to buy so many pounds of butter to look at just to see how much I've lost lol!

Although I won't be the one eating them :p

Absolutely what everyone else has been saying - 4lb a week is brilliant and more than the average, I think...

Also, don't forget that the early weight you lost included a lot of water that was bound up with the glycogen sugars in your system, so you were always bound to lose more "weight" even though it wasn't fat.

For an interesting experiment, fill up a couple of (sturdy!) bags with tins of beans, bags of sugar or whatever - to the weight that you've lost so far. Try carrying them around the house or up and down the stairs a couple of times and you'll soon wonder how you coped just 2 months ago... :D

You're probably right not to get too hung up on the timescale - try and set yourself shorter-term goals. I have a whole load of trousers of varying size and I keep trying them on every couple of weeks. They're good to judge by, because it's so obvious how close (or not!) the zip is... I'm already wearing the first ones and it's amazing how much it makes me smile! If you don't have old clothes like that, how about going round charity shops and chosing a few things that are a bit too small? Bet you it won't take long before you can see concrete results...

Good luck... Mx

there are very few other diets where you'd lose 4lb's a week consistently!

A few ideas:
Get a pound of butter from the fridge, put it in your hand, and have a good look at it...then let it sink in that you have shed 4 of those blocks of butter from your body this week 4!!!!!! Thats great!

Set some mini goals for yourself, it will make 4lb closer to your mini goal a lot nicer to see!

Lots of great advice given above. I would be SO happy if I'd had your losses! Remember, the realistic expectation is to lose an average 3lbs a week? I've had to accept 1 or 2lbs in some weeks even though I've been 100% all the time but I have managed to lose nearly seven stone in six months-ish so I try to just stay strong, get on with the rest of my life and appreciate every day I stay in control! You are doing SO well! :D

Those losses are absolutely fantastic. It is impossible for a human being to lose 7lb per week, week after week. Unless they are desperately ill, perhaps. And even then.

Most people here, including those on other VLCDs, would jump for joy at a steady 4lb per week loss. It's fantastic! This is the reward of a TFR diet - the fastest (safe) weight losses, ever.

The downside is that many people become addicted to those superfast losses and this can make a change of 'diet' and even eventual maintenance (where it is common to regain at first) very challenging.

Well done on sticking to LT for so long, and for losing so incredibly well. You are blessed, truly, and all your very hard work has been rewarded. Losses like these inspire countless others to stick it out x

Well done!
I think 7 pounds a fortnight is perfect x

~dreams of losing a steady 7lb per fortnight~ lol. Would so love that!

Thanks so much for your encouragement! Another wk nearly over.

Today is day 50 for me!! I actually can't believe it. Had a few slips at the start but I've been 100% for SO long now!!

Yes, the early days and even weeks can be torture and you think you will just never be able to stick it... then the losses mount up! But over time you miss food. It's natural! But those losses... What joy.
