low carb diet can someone please tell me what its about

    Hi i want to start a low carb diet but need help

    How many calories do you eat a day?
    What do you eat?
    Do you eat any carbs at all?

    Never done it before so need some advice thank you.x

    hello :) go and have look over at the atkins forum there is loads of good advice on the stickies.
    You can do your own low carb plan or follow one like atkins, south beach or Dukan.
    You should eat carbs but mainly from veggies.

    My own
    I'm 260lbs and keep my carbs between 50-100gs per day. Protein stacks at about 200gs with fats at about 40gs (more if i eat fish or eggs). I try to derive my carbs from wheat bran and wholemeal rice, some fruits and sweet potato.

    I also supplement with Vit B to help process the protein.

    I never look at calories, just carb content. You'll probably find your own best range for weightloss, but it can vary from 20-80g of carbs a day. Usually 20g for your 1st couple of weeks. I only have around 20-40g
