Low-Carb Granola

Yambabe

Bad Girl
Morning folks! Just a bit of a heads-up really, I was in tescos last night and spotted that they have a new product in the cereal aisle. I'm a bit of a cereal fiend and it's one of the things I am missing most since I've been dieting, although I do occasionally have low-carb porridge that I get from Avidlite.

Anyway, it's a granola made by the Good Carb company, branded as "Lizi's".

Comes in 2 flavours, plain or treacle & pecan. I got the treacle and pecan one and it's gorgeous.

It won't be suitable for induction cos it's 7g net carbs for a 50g serving, but may be useful for OWL or maintenance perhaps. Also I weighed it out today, 50g is quite a large portion!

Just thought it might be helpful for some of you.........:)

and just what did you think you were doing in the cereal aisle in the first place. LOL

:D

ah, LOL, LMAO, food porn, OK, you're forgiven. :)

Hmm, is it an EU produced or US produced Zim

Question for Jim can you use Ghee for cooking(its very close to butter)

Hahahaha! Food porn. Love it!! I was looking at the crackers today in Tesco. All far too high :(

I may have read it wrong - new to this remember!

The pack says "produced in the UK for the GoodCarb Company" and the address is Llanelli in South Wales.

The total carbs in a 50g serving is 23.8g, it says "of which sugars" 7.4g then down at the bottom it says "one serving of this granola has the same effect on your blood sugar as eating 7.3g of glucose".

I think I may have confused the Glycaemic Load number with the net carbs? In which case it might be OK for maintenance and pre-maintenance but maybe not for OWL if you have a low CCLL.

Ghee is clarified butter -- milk is removed...enjoy!!!
