I notice that to form the marshmallows you use flour or cornflour which would obviously be synned but I don't expect you would use very much so how bad can they be?

Just had a go at this, so time will tell for my attempt at homemade marshmallows!!
The recipe is very easy and seems to taste just like a marshmallow, Time will tell though as it says it takes between 2 and 5 hours to set, so I will update you as the evening goes along!!
Fingers Crossed!!

just to confirm this is no syns? :)

It says so where I found it and just been searching on slimmers world website for confirmation, ok I didn't check the syn value of water out!!

3 envelopes unflavored gelatin (Syn Free)
1/4 cup cold water (Syn Free)
3/4 cup boiling water (Syn Free)
3 tablespoons granulated sugar substitute or granulated fructose (Syn Free)
1 teaspoon white vanilla extract (Syn Free)
3 egg whites (Syn Free)

Surely all syn free ingrediants add upto a syn free recipe!!!

:party0038:

I used a very small sprinkle of flour on the baking paper just to ensure that they didnt stick!!
Oh and yes they are made now and are just like normal marshmallows!!!
If you like marshmallows you will like these!! I have just cut them up into small pieces and my 3 boys are loving them!!!

I made it in a baking tray and covered that with baking paper (just in case) I used normal vanilla essense and checked that it was syn free as well. and then cut it all into chunks, probably about an inch square!!
I think I will get a bit more adventurous with the next batch and use a different flavouring!!
If you like marshmallows you will like them if you dont you won't. As they taste exactly how marshmallows normally taste!!
I will mention this recipe to my group manager on Monday and take a few samples in as well so I can get honest opinions about syns and taste!! :)

Very fluffy like a cross between a marsmallow and a milk jelly, lol

Thanks t11cky for the recipe and thanks gettingfitat50 for the pictures. I am definately going to have to give this a go, I love marshamallows. By the way gettingfitat50 I expect you could use Vegegel instead of gelatine if you wanted a veggie alternative :)
