Maintaining on Slimming World

    Hi all, I'm new to this site but wonder if anyone can give me some advice please? I reached my target in December 2013 and I'm managing to maintain but I find in order to do this I'm having to stick to the plan and still have the same average syns per day (5-10). I thought I'd be able to eat more syns and/or a/b choices now but as soon as I do that or have a 'day off' I find I go up by a couple of pounds - any advice welcome.

    I think, if I remember correctly, when maintaining, you add and extra HE B and if you still lose, add another?
    The point is, weight is always going to fluctuate, so you are very unlikely to stay exactly the same weight every week which is why SW give you a bit of leeway either side of your target weight.

    I guess though its different for everyone. For me personally, I struggle to lose when following the plan (in other words I maintain a lot!!) so I highly suspect when I do finally reach target, I will not need to add anything to maintain and I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing!
    We are all different and you will have to find your happy medium, what works for one wont necessarily work for another

    My original target was 11st 5lb and I've been maintaining by doing what I did when losing weight, although I have since lost a further 1st 3lb (but very slowly) to reach my new target. I only do Green days so have 2 HEBs and 2HEAS. I also stick to 10-15 syns daily. I find it quite easy to do, as I have plenty of carbs and always have one of my HEBs in treat form- either a bag of ryvita minis or 2 Hifi lights or Alpen lights. I also worry that I would gain if I added another HE, but because I already have my 2 Bs. I'm happy with that.

    thanks all, this really helps, love this forum already. What helped me was to do extra easy most days but then I had at least 2 days a week on original because I'm not that active (busy grandmother but not that physical) so I figured cutting the carbs down would help and it did seem to do the trick. Took me 11 months to lose 4 stone. Tempted to try to go down another half stone for the summer even though I'm happy at my current weight but the struggle to maintain was putting me off a bit.

    When I was at target pre baby, I maintained by gaining two lbs one week. .then reigning it in and getting it off the next and so forth. I was always within target range. I think what is important to remember is that everyone, even naturally slim people, their weigt always fluctuates- except its just a couple of lbs and undetectable to anyone else. Life brings some weeks full of events and others are quiet. I personally think target isn't about aspiring to see the same number every single week on the scales, your weight will fluctuate even just through the day! It's about managing it, being mindful but enjoying your new lease of life ;) congratulations on target!
