Ok I getting worried now that I won't be entitled to any maternity pay.

I've worked 30 hrs a week on a temporary basis since 8th December 2009. My job is due to finish on the 23rd July. My due date is 16th October.

Will I be entitled to start maternity leave as soon as I finish?

Will I be entitled to SMP?

    So so worried.

Who can I call to discuss?

    Hey,

You should be entitled to Maternity Allowance which you can claim through the job centre. I think you can start claiming from 29 weeks and it's payable for 39 weeks. However you might want to consider signing on for jobseekers allowance for a few weeks in order to get longer after baby's born. Current rate is roughly £130 a week but I would seriously go onto JSA if you can afford it.

    Here's some more info.

    Good luck!
