Hey All

just wondering if you can use melba toast as a HEB, as noticed they are only 1/2 syn each? xx

Unfortunately not - I assume it's because there's not enough fibre in them.

Half a syn each is good though!

No, not a HE, but I was pondering over what Melba Toast would be like, made from our slices of HE breads? I've never had 'brown' Melba Toast. Could be very nice with pate.

How to make Melba toast:

Toast bread under a pre-heated grill until golden brown on both sides. Remove and trim the crusts off each slice. Using a bread knife cut each slice horizontally in two, so you have two very fine square slices. Grill the 'uncooked' side of each piece of toast until golden brown.

Done!

it sounds a good idea, but dont thin i'd like it, cause i dont like my toast well done, i only like it so its warm lol. xx

Thanks anyway though chick. xx

Thanks paperclip, you got there first!
I do mine in the toaster to start with, whilst the grill is heating up. Cuts a few mins off of the time.
I don't like melba toast out of a packet, but it's scrummy made properly ♥
