I have lost a pound this week. Pleased as I cant exercise this week as I have bursitis in both hips. I would benefit from and anti inflammatory drug such as ibrufen but I cant take any drugs like that as I take warfarin a blood thinner after I had extensive blood clots in both lungs. If pain doesn't ease going to use acupuncture to help me. Right enough of me whinging lol

Well done! Please remind me what your alternate days format is. Is it 800 calories and then more the following day?

I hadn't called the surgery about NHS Tier 3 weight management programme - so seeing your post reminded me. I have just called and have a phone consultation with my GP on Tuesday. The programme In my county seems to be run 90 mInutes drIve away - so It'll be expensive in fuel and time to take part If I'm accepted onto the programme.

Yes Ali one day 800, next day up to your calories to your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure includes calories for your lifestyle ie sedentary, light exercise etc )or in my case BMR (basal metabolic rate the minimum your body burns daily if you were immobile ). I know in some forms of this type of fasting, the very low calories days can be as low as 600 or even 24 hr fasts, but thats not sustainable for me. but i do think that higher protein, lower carbs <60 - 80 ish on higher cal days combined with 16/8 IF & 2 meals in my 8 hour eating window makes this work better for me. Its flexible too like the 5:2 diet with only 2 fast days weekly, but you can do 4:3 or Alternative days too. its finding a style that works for you. Haha there's me rambling again when a simple yes would have done lol.

Ps As far as I know the programme is done via video conferencing, don't know whether that will change when the lockdown is completely lifted and i was told its every three weeks, but still waiting to start, so not quite sure how it works in practice, they are dragging their feet tho, at this rate I would have met my goal by then. A girl can dream huh lol
