Mint Choc Shake and Mac Cheese update

Had this today and so thought I'd share.

The samples our manufacturer made was not satisfactory so we put the Mint Chocolate back into development.

Mac cheese is a problem as the manufacturer of the quick cook pasta has de-listed it from their product range and are not willing to make it for us or anyone. Other manufacturers of the same type of pasta are not quick cook as they promote and as such even after 4 minutes of microwaving they are still not soft enough to eat. We are looking at the option of making a 'Cheesy Pasta' using the same pasta as we have in the spaghetti bolognese.

At this stage as we will be looking at 4 weeks minimum for either product.

What do people think of the idea of the cheesy pasta? I quite liked the macaroni bits in the mac cheese so not sure personally!

Cheesy pasta sounds good to me :) I think when on these type of diets having a choice is amazing. I likes the macaroni but found it so rich I had to have it more like a soup lol what about a cheese n leek type dish yummy

I like the idea of cheesy pasta as although I never tried the mac cheese I'm not a fan of it in real life so I know I wouldn't even try it whereas I like both pasta and cheese.

Am I missing something? I thought macaroni cheese was essentially cheesy pasta? So what would the difference be (other than them using a different pasts supplier)?!

It's a different kind of pasta shape in the Macaroni and in Bolognese Lulu, that's part of the attraction... Though agreed, it is essentially just 'Cheesy pasta' to begin with. :)

I think they should steal the pasta Lighter Life use in their Carbonara packs (quite chunky looking spiral pasta) - that would work very well, plus it cooks faster than the Macaroni cheese one did anyway! ;)

Why don't you suggest that too them. See if they can find out who supplies LL.

I'm sure there are limited amount of suppliers who manufacture such a specialised product, I'm sure it's been either a) considered or b) it supplies exclusively to LL/or they don't want to share that sort of information.

I sent them an e-mail, but either way - Cheesy pasta with Bolognese noodles sounds nice - it's mostly for the taste difference and variety, over some cauliflower I wouldn't notice the difference anyway! :)
