I find I must agree with KD, I personally dont think that the more you drink the more you lose, my loss has been quite consistent and I have gone from 2 litres to 3 litres a day.
 
My understanding of the water and weight thing is that drinking enough (usually around 2ltrs I believe) stops you retaining fluid because the body knows it is getting a regular supply - which is why drinking it all at once doesn't work - and therefore doesn't need to hold onto any. You know you're drinking enough when you notice you're going to the loo more. If that's the case there's no point in upping your intake and as has already been said, it can be harmful if you do. xx
