Well, today is day 8, and I've lost a total of 7 lbs this first week. Although I'm happy abut the weight loss, I'm a tiny bit disappointed I didn't lose more. I've see other folks losing 9 or 10 lbs the first week.

My biggest problem is that I'm really struggling with being tired.

I haven't exercised during the past week because it was pouring rain. I planned to walk this morning because the rain finally stopped, but I was just too exhausted to drag my lazy butt out of bed this morning!

I've noticed it's a lot easier to make me cry. Last night my sweetie was in the kitchen and I had to wait about 15 minutes to have my shake. Ended up going into the bedroom and having a good cry.

Of course it didn't help that my spouse and my kid were eating tamales for dinner and the furnace kicked in and spread the small all over the house!

I sure hope this gets easier, soon.

You are only on day 8 and they say you shouldnt exercise at the start as you will be tired.....
Everything you are saying rings true with me, i still have low moments and have cravings now and again - especially at the start of the diet you will find that your moods are all over the place.
Keep going hun - it does get easier - you have gone through the worst (first week) you will be fine :)

    hI FELLOW PIRATE LOL

THATS A BRILL LOSE, IF YOU'D BEEN GOOD PRIOR TO STARTING CD THAT SEEMS TO HAVE AN EFFECT ON YOUR LOSSES TOO. I DID 6LB THE FIRST WEEK...... AND I TRY TO LOOK AT IT IN A MONTHLY FIGURE TOO, I'VE DONE OVER 16LBS IN FOUR WEEKS AND AM SOO HAPPY, IF I CAN DO THAT EACH MONTH I WILL BE OVER THE MOON.....SO THINK IN LONGER TERMS, ALTHOUGH I KNOW THATS HARD ON THIS DIET..... ITS THE LONG TERM GOAL OF LOSING WEIGHT..

AND I HAVE A GOOD CRY MOST DAYS LOL

I agree with biltsy, it seems that those who cut down on carbs and increased water intake don't lose in the double digits because they lose some before they begin CD, but those that have a pre CD blowout for a day(s) in advance of starting lose in the double digits during the 1st week. I don't know if that theory plays out but we know if you take steps to prepare for the diet in advance people are saying that it is easier to get through the first rough week.
Just my thoughts. Hang in there because if you follow the plan you will do well.
