My weightloss diary...in the hopes of keeping me on track!

Nearly 2 months after registering here I've only just come back on the forums  But how informative a return it has been! I've now downloaded the iphone app so I can access here almost any time of the day/night from my phone and hopefully that will help me keep me more accountable! Plus I've spent today going through various threads gleaning information about meal ideas etc.

The reason I'm back is that I went to see my doctor on Tuesday and he's told me I need to get my weight down a lot..as in 3 stone before he can start dealing with something. So I started in earnest on Wednesday (spent tuesday going through all my SW stuff) and according to my scales I've lost 5lb already this week  Its star week, and the past 2-3 weeks I've had a lot of take-aways or picky meals (the kind where you grab a sandwich as you can't be bothered to cook a meal, then an hour later you're grabbing another one as your hungry again, and so on, not to mention the easter chocolate!) so I think this might be a bit of a case of a false start but it certainly has me motivated :D

So my plan of attack for this week is to NOT have a take-away at all, and stick to 10-15 syns each day. I have a lot of work to do at the back end of this week (I'm self-employed and my work comes in fits and bursts on a 3 week cycle) and I have a lot of running around to do within the time limit of school hours as I want to max out my savings on my grocery budget this week by hitting Asda, Aldi, Home Bargains, Co-op, (the previous 4 are all walkable distances so far taking into account carrying groceries back), Tesco (possibly walk this one), Morrisons, Sainsburys, B&M, maybe Lidl if I can squeeze it on the day I have a bus pass as they're quite a hike from where I live when you have bags of shopping to lug and a good 10-20 minutes on the bus anyway! This is going to take some planning, which is what I'm hoping to do when I get up in the morning. I'll be up really early as my daughter (referred to from now on as L) is going with her dad to see the grand finale of Sea Odyssey in town tomorrow and I had better get my backside to bed as I've just noticed the time! Night all!

The quality of fruit & veg in my local Aldi is hit and miss unfortunately. I mainly shop at the Asda over the road, but since I started SW I get home deliveries from asda normally instead. That may sound lazy but my local one is aimed very much at students & convenience food, if I shop online it comes from another store who actually stock a much wider range of SW friendly stuff and I can buy the cheapest much easier than trying to work it out in store lol

Yep i agree if i know im goin sumwere big like asda i always write a list n stick to it lol and i know wat u mean about aldi's fruit n veg i went lidl the ova day n the bits wat i got hav lasted me ages! I love aldi's super 6 salad potatoes 59p!!! I chop them into chips/wedges lovely! :)

So my first WI today and it was a good result. I lost 6lbs! But this happens all the time when I start loosing weight, so I'm not overly chuffed. Now comes the real challenge, trying to increase my loss so that I can get a full stone off by the end of May!

I did manage to hit all the supermarkets yesterday as planned, except for Lidl but that was in the opposite direction to the others so not really a surprise lol I got loads of salad, muller lights and did lots of walking too.

I'm now trying to get an Asda order sorted, for delivery Saturday for heavier stuff but its turning into a slog. Usually I just put smartprice everything in, this time I'm checking syn values and going for the cheapest yet healthiest options. Right now though I'm headed for bed. I have work tomorrow & hoping that my 30 Day Shred arrives :D

Well I fell off the wagon last night. I was working and out in the cold & the rain and was feeling pretty miserable after 3 hours so just wanted something comforting and warming. So I syned a mug of turkish delight options, 1 slice of brown bread & 8g of clover lighter as a treat/supper. Then I fell...I had another 2 slices of toast, more clover (not measured), a slice of bread & clover, the end of the jar of peanut butter (scrapings of Asda's low fat one), a chunk of edam and the very end of my easter egg! No idea how many syns it was but I know I've blown it so I've decided to stick to 10 syns or less for the remainder of the week in hopes of minimising the damage. BUT I did climb right on back this morning and so far I've only had 3/4 of a syn! So I'm going to have 1 sausage for tea (posted a request for the syn value) some mash potato & baked beans. I will NOT allow one fall to scupper my long term plans!
