New and thinking is there such a thing as too much?

Hi all

I started SW on wednesday, weighing in at 16st 3lbs. I have previously done weight watchers, and lost over 10 stone on that (I originally weighed 23st), but after getting to goal I got complacent, and adding a bout of depression to that, some of the weight has gone back on. I decided I wanted to try something different and am really liking SW so far. However, I am worried that I can have too much free food. I have always been a binger, hence the previous weight problems, and to me 'unlimited' pasta, really is a load! Its scary after WW too, because I was so used to weighing and measuring everything.
Can you guys tell me how much you really do eat? I looking forward to have a really good look at the messages here. Haven't had a red day yet, so going to get some ideas about that. I guess i'll see if you can have too much free food on wed when I get weighed!

Hi Angellore, welcome to SW, if it says free food then you can eat as much as you like, the ideas to fill up on the free food which is the healthy stuff , healthy extras for your calcium and fibre and syns for the stuff you maybe can't life without i.e chocolate, crisps, etc.
Honestly i have big helpings of free food everyday, why go hungry when its there for you to have without the guilt. It's worked for me in 8 weeks iv'e lost 15.5 pounds and haven't felt deprived or hungry, hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks loobylou, thats helped put my mind at rest! My trousers already feel a little looser after 3 days and I am weeing like mad, so I am losing water!

Hi Angellore, i drink a lot of water, but i find the more veg i eat the more i wee.
I suppose we are losing water but if we're drinking a lot then it must be ok, it cleans through our systems i think. xxx Loobylou:D

That makes sense because I am eating loads of veg. I do shift work, so am about to eat my 'lunch' got a massive pasta salas with chick peas, red kidney beans, red pepper, spring onions, cucumber, basil and 2 tblsp extra lite hellmans. All that for 1.5 syns. Fantastic! And a bunch of grapes for after, if I can manage them.

Welcome to the forum, and SW Angellore, it is hard to believe that you can eat as much free food as you like, and nearly every time somebody starts the SW plan for the first time, they have concerns that they are eating to much lol, all I know is that it does work so enjoy x

Thanks Nanny Jax. It really is good to know I'm not alone in my concerns. I think if I hadn't done WW before I wouldn't be so worried, but that was so restrictive compared to this! I asked my leader about 5 times if she was sure I could eat as much pasta as I liked! She seems really nice so thats great, as do the rest of my group. Can't wait til wed to see how I get on.

Hi Angellore welcome to the forum and SW. I know it can be hard to get your head around at first but you really can eat the free food as much as you like. That's why it is so good for those of us who like our food or comfort eat, cus we can still eat loads and lose weight! Eat and enjoy x

Hello and welcome, sorry i have been late in replying but i have been packing my suitcase! phew i think ive burned 1000 cals just doing that! why oh why is it soooooooo stressful lol!.

Yes you can eat loads on this diet! its the best and that why so many people love it! try to vary your diet so you dont get bored.!

That's very true about varying the diet, it's very easy to get stuck in eating the same thing day in day out
