New few questions please;)

Hello everyone

Have just discovered this site and really want to try and give it a go have tried all diets going and ive lost weight with slimming world before. Was just wondering two things really

Du loose more weight if you have wholemeal pasta on green days and does anyone know if your eating out say a jacket and tuna mayo or jacket pot with chili how many syns you would count it as when your ou and about.

Hi Laura and welcome :)

SW do recommend choosing wholemeal pasta (and wholegrain rice) yes. You can eat normal stuff, but wholemeal has more fibre in it, which does lots of good things for your insides. It helps fill you up, helps you go to the loo more efficiently etc. It's not compulsory, but it may help.

When you're eating out, I'd say if you're having filling with your jacket, you need to be quite careful. I usually opt for baked beans then it doesn't really matter too much, however with tuna, you'll need to learn the size of a 'healthy extra' portion of tuna and then syn your mayonnaise. It's dangerous ground because it's a lot of estimating.

I think Hellicopter is on the right lines, if you really want to crack this diet lots of estimating isnt necessarity good. However you do get more experienced at portion size as you go. The trouble is you wouldnt know if they used low cal mayo or tuna in oil, so if estimating I would always overestimate.

You are allowed to eat such a lot of free foods so again I would opt for a jacket and beans for a green day.

I always have just a plain jacket spud with beans if I am eating out, at least on a green day it is free and you don't have to worry about portion control etc.
