My trainer told me after exercise eat a small bowl of fruit, I used to think that after I'd worked my bum off I could eat whatever I wanted because I'd somehow gained a halo lol

You are more hungry because your metabolism is rising. This shows your body is burning so many calories that its crying out for more! So this is good.

The way around it is to just NOT eat snacks. Its simply down to self control. Get some vegetables and protein (meat or fish) instead.
