Well after many years of yoyo dieting and trying every diet under the sun I have decided that I really need to lose weight. Is my husbands 40th next year and I don't want to be fat for his special day. He loves me as I am and keeps telling me this, but I need to do this for me.

Went to the doctors last Friday and asked for some help and she has prescribed Xenical. Have read the sticky at the top of this forum and am a little apprehensive. Am scared of being Tango'd, am scared of failing AGAIN and am scared of always being fat.

Have decided to start afresh, so come Monday morning the tablets come out and the diet kicks in, will also stop smoking. Will be off to Tesco to shop and now just need to get some ideas what to buy lol

I really have no idea what to have for lunch. I am a sarnie and crisps gal, but need to look at something else. Ideas please.

Also, do I need to look at calories as well as fat in everything?

Am rubbish at exercise, but am off to join up with the gym after summer holidays are over. Will spend the summer walking with the kids, although their pace is a little slower than what I need to burn off fat.

Sorry, everyone. Am waffling. Will try not to in future. I really hope this site helps me stick to a diet this time.

Hi and welcome, generally the rule is that you cannot have more then 5g fat per 100g and max 15g fat per meal. I was confused when I first started as well.
I do most of my shopping from Asda as my finacee works there and we get a discount. But here is a idea of some things that I buy (you should be able to get some of this from Tescos as well)

    WW - Pasta Sauces
    WW - Korma Sauce
    WW - Garlic Naan Bread
    WW - Garlic Ciabatta Bread
    WW - Bagels
    WW - Pita Bread
WW - Soft Cheese Spread (Herb and Onion)
You can also get WW Bacon although I havent tried it.
From Asda they have a great range called Good For You which I buy a variety of ready made meals such as Beef Lasagne, Chicken Korma, Chicken Madras, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken in Peppercorn, Cottage Pie, Chicken Hot Pot, Fish Pie all within the 5g fat rule and a bargain at 5 meals for £4.
Good For You also does a low fat 4 cheese sauce and a low fat carbonara sauce as well if your a pasta lover.
Weight Watchers has a great line of desserts as well such as cheesecake, mousse, ice cream etc.
Also for snacks I have Pink N Whites or Snack A Jacks

Good Luck hope I helped a bit

Thanks so much, thats a great help to me.

One question, can I have bread? I really enjoy a sarnie at lunch or for my supper at work (I work nights)

    Thanks again, roll on Monday

I echo the good for you range at Asda - also I love some of the Fresh Tastes range (not all of them mind as the break the fat content rule) - my fave's are the sweet chili prawn noodles and the chili beef... they are really good!

I also try and have fruit and low fat melba toasts for snacks as well.

And yeah, look at the calories as well. I do, I look at fat content - and its the total fat content in both 100g and in the food and calories.

Walking is a great idea - as long as you are moving, its all going to help! If you have a Wii you could always try the sports games too!

I also bought some fitness DVD's which are rated good from www.play.com - some of them are going for £2.99 with free delivery - maybe an idea?

Welcome to MiniMins and welcome to Xenical - keep us all posted on your progress.

P.S Don't worry about the side effects of Xenical... stick to a low fat diet and you should be fine! :) x
