Hi, I'm new to MiniMins,
I stumbled upon this site somehow when I googled for weight loss forums. This is simply the best I’ve come across. There are some truly inspiring people and stories on here, which I’ve just loved reading. Overall I have almost six stone to lose - it seems forever away, to be honest, but I’m determined. I’ve struggled with my weight issues since childhood - mainly due to a medical condition. It makes losing weight extra hard since my energy is limited (for exercise) and my metabolism is sluggish. However, I’ve been sticking to a calorie controlled diet for a few months now and seem to be losing weight.
I only weighed myself recently for the first time. It was a shock to find I’m sixteen stone - even with my tall frame. I’ve always been someone that “carries it well” - I think my Mother would be horrified if she knew what I truly weigh. Sigh. I’m aiming to lose six stone in the long term, but four stone will put me within a “normal” BMI range. My aim from now until Christmas is to lose at least two stone. I hope that’s achievable.
I have a horrible relationship with the scales, often jumping on and off them daily. So I’ve decided to weigh myself less frequently. My big weigh in day is Saturday and I’m really hoping I’ll have got below 16 stone by then.
I’ll let you know how I progress over the months. It’s both daunting and exciting to finally take control.
