New Year... New Start - onwards and downwards.

Very quick post, will catch up on diaries later.

I want a soup maker! Your recommendation alone is reason enough to buy one, right Mel?! Love those ideas, will look into one :D

Rose is an inspiration! Think it's a good thing to keep you in check. Not seeing a nurse but she did agree to refer me to something called active4health. Isn't free but is reduced cost, I'm ok with that. It's a 10-12 week personalised exercise programme. First of all, I meet with a GP Exercise Trainer (So a PT but who has taken extra training to be able to provide for medical issues too) who will do an assessment and then design a 10-12 week programme for me. This could involve the gym, fitness classes etc. I then have another assessment at the end to see what progress I've made and go back to the doctor with that. I'm not sure of the exact costs of it, seems to be £20 initial assessment/post assessment and then £3.60 per session, normally £30 and £4 per session so not really a very big saving. Will have to see how it all goes, taking my form in to them later.

York sounds good. I went there on a university trip and enjoyed it, didn't have enough time to see everything though. I'd be up for that, what do others think?

Thanks Amy. I liked that about SW too but my meeting was so packed you didn't really get much more than a so and so lost x, so and so gained x, with a bit more chat about people towards the beginning and rushing from mid way through!

Doctors went well, explained about exercise above. I could see the nurse too but figured I'd stick with the referral, difficult to get to see the nurse because of opening times anyway really. She was overall really pleased, said I've made very good progress. Blood pressure has dropped from 140/85 (high) at the end of November to 120/82 (normal). Resting heart rate is 72, which is just above average for my age. Seems I've shrunk 2cm since they last measured me though! Was strange to not feel judged and condemned for it and instead praised for doing well!

Well done Caz for going along to the docs..you definately mean business when you make that step! I remember thinking the exact same thing when I started, wow, here I am going to the docs and speaking about my weight and how unhappy I am with it..rather than scared to go the docs incase THEY mention the W word! ;) I too have a lovely doctor, who took over from another lovely doctor, who listened and didn't judge or frown at me :)

Thank you so much to you and Mel for lovely, kind words..I feel a bit of a fraud, as I have been terrible the past few days and even thought of cancelling my next weigh in!!!!..BUT Mel made me see sense.and I WILL go, and face any damage. My nurse is so nice and although I know she won't be angry, she WILL be disappointed for me, and not at me! ;)

Exercise prog sounds a great idea hun, I look forward to hearing all about it! :) When does it start? I know many years ago, I went along to an induction medical referral ...met the instructor who was really nice, very young and seemed to know what he was talking about..but I didn't return!!!!. It was when I lived in Glasgow and at that time it was free..but my head wasn't in the right place..so I didn't go back! :(

Anyway, you will do it, because I can sense the determination in your posts, have a great day x

Im so pleased you had a positive experience at thanks docs. It really helps restore the faith.
Referral sounds fab, i don't think it's a massive saving though.

Love how determined and positive you are Caz. I'd say you are an inspiration. :) xxx

Hi Rose, glad to see you back! Exactly, it felt so strange going and planning to bring it up rather than hoping and praying that they won't! When I went to see the specialist about my knee for my MRI results he said about what was wrong with it, didn't recommend surgery at this point etc. and then in a very disapproving and judgmental voice told me that maybe I should consider losing weight so that my knee had less strain on it as that would help improve it. I really felt like telling the cock to cock off! Said in true Squeezy style lol How dare he talk to me like that, I'd lost a good 30+lbs by then and I had to STOP exercising so much because of me knee. Someone like that really shouldn't judge, not when they don't know all the facts.

You're not a fraud at all. Just because you've had a not so great week doesn't mean that you're any less amazing and inspirational to the rest of us!

Not sure when the exercise will start, going to drop off the forms this afternoon and see what they say. I'd like it to be quite soon really, though I'm going to have to tell them about S&S as it means I won't be able to do anything too intense.

Aww thanks Squeezy, not sure I'd agree but thank you, made me smile all the same :) I don't think the referral is a massive saving either, a whole £14 over 10 weeks, wow! =/

My size 12 bikini arrived today. Got a long way to go... Eek! Lol

Come August I WILL upload a picture of me in that bikini NOT looking fat and flabby! Hopefully lol

Hiya Caz, love the Bikini photo !!! ( I knew someone who bought a bikini and then stuck it to the Fridge door, so no excuses !!   )

Getting organised with the old food supplies is a great idea, saves time and lessens the stress over food choices. I usually have one day a week when I fill the oven up with like three big dishes of meals ( yep, I do have a giant American oven ! ) something like Mr D's Chicken Alfredo, Slow Beef Stew, and one Veggie option, like my special Spaghetti Veggie Sauce. Then all of that is portioned out and then frozen, so easy just to add sides to these meals and WHAM !! Dinner is served !! :D

A soup maker sounds like a good investment for you, I know the Minimin's Mob :) gives it a big thumbs up ! Hehe !! I love soup, a big Veggie Bowl for tiny cals !! Scrummy !!! Though, I must admit I just use my Blender / Juicer Monster to whoosh it !!!

Means, no excuses to give in and have Take Aways, and Mr D can help himself if I'm out or away, the man is a one-man disaster in the Kitchen !!!
He's cooked for me once or twice over the years, and, uhmmm, all I can say about it is that I survived !!!

Diva x

Love that idea Diva, I'd do the same if I could! Cooking up bigger meals and freezing left overs is something I've done before, it's just having the freezer space to do it I guess. Something to look out for when I move, does it have a decent freezer!!

I've just been looking at soup makers, so expensive! That and an actifry would set me back nearly £200

My soup maker wasn't too bad -- from Amazon.co.uk -- it's a Designer Habitat. It had the best reviews and a lower price. I love it. It can steam veggies, eggs, be used as a smoothie maker, etc.

Hey £14 is a lot! It'll but you loads of bargain dresses on eBay. It'll pay for an advanced purchase train ticket to York, I bet. You're the only oneI've suggested it, too. I thought it might work for Rosie and Wee Cherub. Also, they've opened a new world of chocolate thing -- think of the irony: people who me on a weight loss forum doing a chocolate tour together! LOL

My SW group was huge and it was really just a go round and a you lost, you didn't and way too much freaking clapping. It felt as if I was in nursery.

Glad the doctor thing went well. I guess the fitness person can track your losses with you (for accountability).

You're not a fraud -- you're human and honest. Get back on Andre... I'm sure he misses you. That'll be a start. ;). (Thanks for "listening" -- go "man up". IYKWIM. It's been a chaotic week and with Wee Cherub's b'day -- you get a pass.)

Im so pleased you had a positive experience at thanks docs. It really helps restore the faith.

A "Thinspiration"!

That photo was a HOOT! That bikini is soooo skimpy. I wouldn't have worn it when I was 8 stone and 19! (But then I burn so easily -- I always wore one of my dad's white dress shirts as a beach cover up).

I did that (precook thing) when I taught school. I had a huge freezer in the basement and I go get something in the morning and leave it to thaw in the fridge. I used the slow cooker a lot, too.

I'm getting either an air fryer or Acti-fry. Just haven't decided which.

HI Caz just catching up on your news, sorry I've been AWOL but only just got laptop back, I had been using an old laptop but it was so slow, I just got frustrated with it. Well done on the loss that's fantastic :) the dress looks lovely the colour really suits you

I'm wanting a soup maker minerva, I have a slow cooker :) I'll have a look at yours, thanks Mel.

Well Rose, Squeezy and peeps, what do you think to York?

Didn't realise how skimpy the bikini is actually. Find it a bit scary haha

I really want pizza!! Big, fat greasy pizza lol

I've always said Bikinis are for the brave, lol !!! Even when I was really light, 150 ish pounds I wore a speedo one piece as I used to swim laps and laps, and as a "big gal" boobs wise even then I needed to have 'em under control !! :p

As for holiday attire, it depends on what you plan to be doing, lolling by the pool, by the bar, the odd paddle or dip in the ocean, a Bikini sounds fine. I actually love to swim deep, as safely as I can, of course ,in the ocean, with decent waves ( the workout is brilliant !! ) and do loads of laps, so I'm back to a trusty one piece !!! Hehe !!

I have also looked at the nice semi sheer cover ups, not the kaftan style ones, which would work well with a Bikini, and even if you are not at target, the Tankini has become popular again, or maybe it's only here in the States ? :) I'm amazed at the super new designs for them ,looking trendy ! It may be a good alternative, if not at target. ( Not being negative, but you never know what can happen, health problems, injury, which slow down a weight loss !! )

Diva x

Imagine that pizza giving your pizza face.

Oops sorry Trisha, we must have cross posted. Glad to see you back and thanks for your lovely post :)

Bikinis definitely are for the brave and to be honest, not sure I'll ever be that brave! That said, I want a decent tan for once in my life!! My boobs are only a C cup so they're not too difficult to keep under control even at my biggest lol Might shrink and have none left at goal! =/

Not sure of plans at the moment. Probably will be lots of lounging by the pool and on the beach reading, odd splash in the ocean and swim in the pool. Don't like to go too far out though so a bikini would probably be ok! I feel a bit wrong even talking about a bikini when I'm so fat lol

I wear tankinis at the moment, really like them! I find they're more flattering than all in ones actually. I'm not sure what the semi sheer cover ups you're talking about are, could you show me? Didn't take it as negative at all, could well not be at goal by then and keep doubting that I will be myself!

Mel.... pizza face? I'm over pizza now. I was in the supermarket walking down the frozen aisle where there was lots of tasty looking pizza lol Got a lovely stir fry which, to be honest, is far nicer than any pizza would be anyway.
