Hi Kira :)
I have heard good things about IF too. It also seems a good way of keeping yourself mindful of food / health as every week you have the reminders. I am sure you will do great as sticking to s&s as a journey teaches you a lot about yourself as well! You will have to report how it goes as maintenance is really the key step.

The variety is a huge help with slim & save, I really feel that it has so much more staying potential due to the large amount of options. I am going to force variety into all of my orders and not just get what I like the most.

I am now on day 18! That would have seemed like a lot of days on day 1 but it has been fine. I managed the minefield of eating out with pizza express. Avoided all breads and had a bit of veg antipasti and a warm salad, stripped of dressings. It was nice but I couldn't eat it all in the end which is a nice change of pace. My stomach didn't agree with something though :X good to know I can cope with the odd social meal without making the same old excuses to myself as in the past.

Still following the Dr Beck book. It has definitely already highlighted some important things to me and I am sticking to that programme as much as possible. I think it is definitely worth while for people who struggle with weight issues. Also £5 is a bargain for a few weeks of therapy :D

Today is also day 1 of the 30 day shred for me. I am glad it is only a 25 mins blast as any longer would be too much for me while restricting calories. Still I am feeling nice and energised now my heart rate has gone back down!

Maev that's great you've got 14 days under your belt! Around 20 days now since your last post was 6 days ago!

Working on the mental approach really helps and it's one of the many thing I do to keep focused when I find myself wavering or having a craving.

Aye Kira, days are whizzing by! Today will be day 22 however yesterday I was naughty and went off plan! Other half ordered take away (damn him!) so I went with a chicken which was okay but in the evening I had a slice of left over BBQ meat pizza! Very naughty but I feel quite glad that I managed to resist eating more than one slice or going off the rails completely. Previously if I went off plan even a small bit it would become an excuse to go crazy for the rest of the day/week. Also it is that time of the month.

Aim: 100% today!

Thanks Kira :)
Managed to get back on the diet wagon! It has been a hard few days though. I think it might be due to the time of the month because last three days at work have been really exhausting and then I have been crashing out for super long sleeps. Felt very very drained indeed! Hopefully this improves soon as have uni work to squeeze in around work and volunteering stuff. I had never previously felt drained on this way of eating though so hope it stops!

You are probably feeling more tired because you go kicked out of ketosis the other day hence re-starting after a blip can be so difficult. Just keep at it try and avoid blips but have they do happen let them be that an move back on to plan. You've done very well so far so don't give in. I would also recommend you start planning for introducing food later on in your journey. Including a plan for how you will maintain. That is where I have in the past fallen down and regained it all back. This time is definitely different! I am much more conscious of not gaining but I have had to really think about the food I have had now and again and I'm still planning. So far the DR Mosely 5:2 the Fast Diet from the Horizon programme looks good for maintenance. My only criticism of the book and plan is there is very little on what and how much one can eat on the 5 non fast days. Common sense tells me not as much as I used to eat and the carb overload I used to have! So I'm still working on the lifestyle change but to fit with my life family and friends!
