Newbie to slimming world diary.

Hi Everyone,

So here i am again on minimins a few of you may remember me from doing cambridge diet.


So after several years faffing about with meal replacement diets and losing and regaining several times ive finally got fed up and decided to try slimming world.

I was concerned about slower weight losses and eating carbs which is a complete no no on meal replacement diets. So i went along to my 1st meeting 3 weeks ago and decided to give it a bash.
The 1st week i lost 7lbs i couldnt believe it, it works! How it works is beyond me but i aint going to argue with it.
Im finding it incredibly easy and keeping syns low as not needing much more than free and speed food foods.


I was apprehensive at my 2nd weigh in as i got it in my head that the 7lbs the 1st week was just a fluke, but to my surprise i lost 2.5lbs and got slimmer of the week .

So far this week ive been reasonably good wed night which is weigh in day i went out for anniversary date meal and cinema and didnt stick to plan but got straight back on it on thursday so looking forward to weigh in tomoz.

Oh my stats are SW 17.6 CW 16.10 1/2
Height 5ft 6 1/2
Goal weight 10.5 or 11 depending how i look.
 
So weigh in number 3 and only 1/2lb off taking my total to 10lbs in 3 weeks.
I was a bit disapointed as was hoping for more but think its water retention due to tom coming.
So looking forward to next week im going to up the exercise this week and try and get a 4lb loss next week for my 1stone award.
 
Welcome to SW. :D I haven't done the Cambridge diet but I HAVE done Lighter Life. It was probably the worst decision I ever made too. I lost a ton of weight, felt like s**t, looked like s**t (like I'd aged 10 years) and pretty much became a recluse as it was impossible to socialise or go anywhere that involved food or drink. I've realised since how utterly unhealthy it was too. SW is fantastic compared. Slow weight loss is SO much healthier and I watched a video recently explaining that any consistant weight loss over 1 or 2 pounds a week means you are losing muscle mass rather than fat. And with SW you can actually go out and eat and still stick to it. Much more social lol.
 
I agree. I done lighterlife 1st mayby 11 years ago lost 3 stone in 3 months then piled it back on as couldnt afford the 70 quid a week but i put on 2 above what id originally weighed. So found cambridge which i yoyo'd for years until now finally had enough.

Im loving SW so much choice and never feel hungry dont know why i waited so long.

Quick question can you split up youre healthy extra choices as in 100ml 1% milk and 20g light cheddar?
 
Weigh in 4

Loss of 4.5lb taking my total so far to 14.5lbs in 4 weeks.
Im so happy i honestly didnt feel like i had lost weight this week, but it just goes to show doesnt it.
I am so happy with this diet (healthy eating) i dont feel deprived and im not having cravings.
Hopefully i can keep up the losses.

Quick question can you split up youre healthy extra choices as in 100ml 1% milk and 20g light cheddar?
I do this fairly regularly. I think as long as you are accurate with the measurements it's fine. :)
 
Thank you wolf. Im loving this. Its so easy and not being hungry at all is a huge bonus. I love the hifi bars they are my treat at night as i dont eat bread during the day i use them as my hexb.
 
Week 5 weigh in

And a loss of 1.5lbs, im happy with this its going in the right direction. So in 5 weeks ive lost 16lbs, im really starting to notice now but no one else has yet but being bigger it takes a couple of stone before others notice.
Heres to next week im hoping for at least 2.5. So going to up my water and get some more body magic in.

Ive been bad today tho well not too bad had a chinese but opted for chick black bean and boiled rice with 3 prawn crackers but ive got terrible issues with portion control .
2 days till weigh in so will get plenty water and body magic in me.
 
don't worry too much about the Chinese, maybe try and have a couple less syns for a few days to make up for it.

portion control can be really difficult, I still have this issue sometimes and the mentality to finish whats on my plate. most of the time now I'm able to recognise the first feelings of fullness and tend to be able to stop eating then, if I don't I'm often left uncomfortably full. good luck x x
 
Thanks yeah the goal is to have a couple of easy carb days not totally sp but near enough. I hate food going in the bin so i tend to eat it in 1 go so as its not in the house but not getting binned. I think it strms back to being a kid and mum use to say if you dinnae finish your plate ur no getting afters lol need to get out of the habit.
 
Week 6 WI

And a 3lb loss, i cant quite believe how the hell this diet works but for some reason it is i honestly thought id have a gain or a sts. Roll on next week.

And 1lb off this week, was hoping for 2lb to get my 1 and a half st award but never mind will get it next week.
 
Thank you jenny. U r doing amazingly fab aswell i know its post baby but just goes to show that there really is no excuse xxx
