Hi there. I'm new to this forum and started slimming world going alone this week. All the groups in my area are when I'm at work so I can't get to group so have decided to try and do it solo. I'm not sure I'm doing it right though and am looking for some support and for people to put me right where I'm going wrong. Yesterday's food diary was
Breakfast: muller light yoghurt after the school run
Lunch: 2 quorn sausages, 3 bacon with no fat, half a tin of beans, half a tin of tomatoes, 2 eggs scrambled and a Potato waffle.
Tea: muller light yoghurt, banana and an Allen light bar. Another muller light when I got home at 10pm last night.
Any criticism or comment is welcome, I am aiming to lose 4st.
Thankyou for reading

Hi Kelly. Welcome to slimming world. Might be good to get the mods to put your food diary in the diary section as more people are likely to see it and comment. Looking at your diary I'm assuming you're doing EE so was thinking that your lunch yesterday might not have been 1/3 superfree with only half a tin of toms. You could add some other veg such as mushrooms or butternut squash chips. Also maybe varying your snacks a bit. Some people find that they don't lose a lot if they have too many mullers. You only really had one meal which doesn't seem like enough food to sustain you. You can have 2 alpen lights as a HexB and not sure what your hexa was. You may have had milk in tea and coffee but didn't record it. How many syns did you have cos you can have 5-15. The potato waffle would be synned but not sure what else you had. Sorry to be picky but if you don't eat enough early on your weight loss will stall and you might think its not working. Today looks better but again, make sure you get your 1/3 superfree in at every meal. Good luck :)

Ps SW chips are fab! ;-)

Thankyou for replying. I'm
A bit of a snacker if I'm
Honest and struggle to eat 3 meals a day. I counted the alpen bar as a syn yesterday as 3 and the potato waffle as 2, I have my milk in cups of tea all day, forgot to mention that :) is there anything else that's free other than fruit that I can snack on rather than the mullets? I can't eat too much fruit as it gives me acid. :-( I will go and have a look at the meal plan group and see f I can get some ideas for some other quick and easy meals. I struggle for time with two toddlers and working to prepare meals in advance. Need to get myself organised xxxx

Yes it is a bummer trying to get organised with little ones around. There are some really good threads about snacks and quick meals to make and what I tend to do is make enough for more than one meal so there's something to grab when time is tight. Hard boiled eggs are free and you can boil a few and stick them in the fridge. Make a snack with some salad and egg and will keep you going.

Not sure if you like hummus but you can whiz up a tin of chick peas with some olive oil and garlic (need to syn the oil but you don't need a lot) and use it to dip veggies such as carrots, cucumber, celery or buy some little gem lettuce and make 'spoons'. Alternatively get some 0%greek yoghurt, grate in some cucumber (seeds removed), a clove of garlic, some mint (packs in the freezer bit of supermarket are brill to keep in the freezer rather than fresh which goes off quickly) and a pinch of salt. Again a nice dip for crudités.

If you fancy a sweet dip use quark or very low fat natural fromage frais and add a sachet of options white hit choc (2syns). You can dip fruit into this and it makes loads. I find dips are good when you need something that will last more than 2 seconds and is fairly filling.

Also have a look at the slimming eats blog by britmum in Canada. She has some fab recipes and ideas for snacks. Syn free pancakes are unusual but really good and might even be fun to make with the kids. :)
