    Hi all,
Just reading through my 'manual' and noticed on ss+ that onions aren't on the list of veggies? Does anyone know why? I thought that they were mainly water...

Aw mannn i was looking forward to some nice Tuna and Onion in a few weeks!

Onions do contain small amounts of carbs so they're not advised on a ketogenic VLCD (or, indeed, a normal ketogenic diet!) as they can tip you out of ketosis if you're carb sensitive.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - I'd love some onions too!

If u cook onions down they caramelise because of the sugar in them, other vegetables don't hav as much sugar in... Maybe something to look forward to in the future x

i was just about to say about the sugar / caramelisation thing. you can have leeks and spring onions, though.

SS+ says chives are a-okay, but not spring onions. :)

Ohh when I was little my dad used to make me chive sandwiches! Or sometimes just a bowl of chopped chives with salt and vinegar!
hmm well I am planning on starting to have a little food again for Easter - I shall plan on chives then!
