The problem with not having your full set of packs each day is that you will not get the full amount of nutrition that the body needs to work effectively whilst following CD. Without that nutrition, the body needs to work harder to find that nutrition from elsewhere, and that is when the body can start doing things that really you don't want it to do.

Also, below a certain number of calories, the body goes into "starvation mode" and starts to shut down non-essential processes and keeps its reserves for maintaining the vital organs. As such, not eating the full set of packs can negatively impact your weight loss as the body is not firing on all cylinders.

As you have been ill, it may be that the body needed less anyway, so this may all prove to be meaningless waffle, but someone who is well and healthy should always have their full quota of packs.
