does anyone know the health and safety law on bathrooms. My sister in law has a toilet downstairs but she has no sink in there so they have to wash their hands in the kitchen sink.
anyone offer any links as i am dealing with some snooty council worker.

I would look up the 'Decent Home Standard'. Used to work for a Housing Association and all homes had to be up to that standard or the owners of the property can be made to being the home up to standard or be taken to court.

New homes can't be built without a sink in the bathroom/cloakroom but I think for older home this is okay.

Is this a rental home? I'm not sure on the regs around that.

As far as I know the only 'rule' is that there has to be at least one door between a toilet and the kitchen - no rules about sinks and whatnot unless they're new builds.
