O/T Wii question

We have 4 remotes for our wii and for some reason none of them are talking to the console. I've put new batteries in and reset them using the wee red button on the controls and the console but still they dont work.
Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on it for me.

There's a certain order you have to reset them in-as far as I can remember,you press the red button on the console first, then let go, then press the red button on the remote until the lights stop flashing and just one stays lit up.I might be wrong though as that's from memory.

Thank you Rose. I've been pressing red buttons at same time. I'm off to bed now so i'll try that tomorrow, girls having sleepover in living room and taken control of tv. If not, i'm sure someone in Game or similar would help. I bought the Sport Active and i've only been able to use it once and i'm feeling quite energetic and want to get going with it! (that feeling wont last long!)
