Hi- inspired by Ellebears thread- 'Losing weight to be a bride?' and in her words: 'being on an OBG!' I thought it might be nice if those of us who are also deeply entrenched in our own OBG's could form our own team.. :0

We could set mini targets, share exercise tips for shaping up those danger dress areas (bingo wings with strapless dress anyone!!
) and other general wedding related natter.

If you would like to join then let me know :)

In anticipation that someone else is going to come along and join the team I thought I would start with saying hi

My name is Laura, I am 28 and I am marrying my fiance on the 29th of May 2011 on what will be our 11 year anniversary of being together (yes, he did take his time! :p)

I joined SW in February and have lost 16Ib so far with another 22Ib still to go until target. I haven't chosen a dress yet, but have started dress shopping :)

*edit- 17/9/10* just looked back and realised I totally lied about my age. I'm 29, not 28. lol :p

I weigh in on a Monday and I'm going it alone. Well, with the help of all the lovely miniminners!

I go to class on a Thursday evening in Manchester City Centre.

I have a weightloss goal in my head (and my sig!!) which I'd love to achieve before the wedding but I'm not convinced I can do it.

In all honesty, I'd be happy to get 1lb off every week before the wedding as that'd be a massive chunk off what I WI at now.

The style of dress I want is one shouldered and I hate my upper arms so working hard on them at the gym ... hurts to type today, lol!

I weigh in Thursdays too...

I haven't picked a dress yet but when I have tried some on I have been not happy at all with the amount of back flab I had going on!

My main concern at the moment is getting the fat gone, I am doing bits and pieces of exercise as I go along but I will worry more about the toning when I am at target :D

I am sure you will be able to hit target. Do you input your WI details onto the SW site. It gives you an idea of when you will be at target based on how fast you are loosing weight at the moment. My chart says I should be at target at the end of October- (although it does amend it if you have a gain. The week before last I gained 0.5Ib and it set me back 2 months apparently
)

My arms will have so much loose skin when I'm done (if I make it) that no amount of toning will cure. Sleeves all the way!!!

Any ideas on what our first mini target/challenge could be?

I am currently doing a fishy week (inspired by snuggle69's amazing 8Ib in one week) and I'm hoping for 3Ib loss on Thursday.

I quite fancy the fishy week... will be good to see how you go on with that.

I think I'll have a lot too Fray :( So bloody annoying it's one of those bits of me that I really want to "fix" . Not sure if the gym will work for it but I'll blast it for a while and see how it goes. If I see results, then I will have the dress of my dreams

It's going ok so far, I think. I am resisting weighing myself on my scales at home this week. I made myself feel a bit miserable last week as I was weighing at home and thinking i had gained or at best maintained but when I was weighed at class it turned out I had lsot 2.5Ib so I'm not stressing myself again this week! :p

I started on saturday with the fish week. So far I have had-
Saturday: Prawn Salad, Tuna Pasta bake
Sunday: Mackerel and couscous salad, leftover tuna pasta bake
Monday: Smoked salmon and scrambeled egg on toast.

I need to go shop today to get some more fish products! :p

We'll have to brain storm for challenges.

For example:
  • Introduce a fruit or veg we wouldn't normally eat into our plans for a week. Might be something as simple as throwing in a bit of spinach to a curry or other dish. Would only have to do it once! Might add variety.
  • Do we have pedometers? I have one somewhere. We could aim for a certain amount of steps per day or week for a week or two?
  • To take real note of our portion sizes for a week?
  • 15 jumping jacks before bed for a week?
They're all a bit silly but I think if we keep our challenges really simple and short it'll be doable for everyone!!

I am slightly unhappy with my triceps (bingo wings :p) my OH who does a lot of weights said that until the fat is gone no toning is really going to show. Although I have been doing some weights...
I've also been thinking about trying some of this; Soap and Glory The Firminator® 200ml - Boots

I have the 'Sit-tight' stuff they do for legs/thighs which I do think has tightened the skin and helped with the cellulite a bit but I'd quite like to give this a go on my tummy, but it does say iti is good for arms too :)
