One SW day at a time

Wednesday - NOPE.

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.

Nope.

I am so far off plan at the moment I might as well just GORGE myself on chocolate - oh wait...Yeah, that's what I'm doing. :(

Ahem.

You give great advice to other people (me included - thanks! :flowers:) so you need to think about this objectively. What would you tell someone else if you'd seen that in their diary? Do that.

Oh, and go and buy some fruit! Spoil yourself - buy something a bit exotic that feels like a treat.

Oh Sal I feel your gorging pain!

Do you know what I think it is? Its life upheavalment (so not a word, but go with me here). All the while life remains mundane and planned - for me that is get up, get ready for work, eat something whilst getting ready, get to work, eat a controlled lunch that I made myself or had planned to buy, come home, cook food and then to bed. If anything, even the tiniest little thing upsets this plan, like - ooh I don't know, your nan staying, or for me last night it was having to work late, then going straight round mum and dad's and not getting in til late - then my eating healthy goes straight out of the window. Its such an excuse, thats all it is an excuse. And these wonderously evil things called "excuses" come in the strangest forms....

Mick is going away soon and I know I am going to be a monster that week, I just know it! Because of the "upheavalment" ..... sadly I have no answers or assistance for you because I am a UV (Upheavalment Victim)... All I stay say is be strong and in the words of Zammo and the Grange Hill gang, JUST SAY NO!

I am filth. ;)

God dang then what am I?!

Ahem.

Fab advise right there :) xx

Yeah, I think the bone marrow was the problem to be honest - I had trimmed the shanks as well as I could but they are definitely more fatty than breast for example. Lamb shank madras sounds fantastic. Oh God.

I haven't been to either Hix or Hawksmoor - I might float that as an idea for my birthday! It falls on Easter Sunday this year though which is bladdy awkward...great for the hangover I will no doubt end up with though.

Oh yeah, get amongst the beef there Sally, espesh for your birthday - I am pretty sure they will be open.

Oh thank you all. I did as you advised and went and got myself some lovely fruit to munch on and it looks like today is going to be a 100%er.

I'm so grateful for all of your support. :bighug:

Yay! :does the happy dance: (That counts as Body Magic, right?!)

Good on you - delighted to see you back and fruited up :) x

Sally it actually sounds like you and I have had similar weeks! We can get back on it, of course we can - we just need to make sure we don't see this as failure and give the whole bloody thing up! And I agree with Charley - something happens in your day to day schedule and your good intentions go belly up, face first in a vat of ice cream. Since breaking up with Mike I have not planned any meals or anything, whereas before I was a bloomin halo child. So let yourself off this week. Pesky nan brought with her your old habits but they'll leave with her when she goes. You know what? You and your wonderful weightloss will still be okay even after a couple of slightly off plan days. Oh, and Lee sounds like an absolute cracker, it's not wonder you miss him when he's not there!

Keep going chick - you're all over this weightloss malarkey, don't you worry :superwoman: x and bravo on stocking up on work fruit, I'm totally taking a leaf out of your book. Or an orange out of your fruit bowl - whatever floats your boat.

You are all so lovely, and it really seems to have done the trick so THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!. I promise to return the favour if you ever need it.

:thankyou:

Friday! Praise All The Praisy things!

WI day - 0.4lbs off taking me to 179.4. WTF?. It's not fair, it's not right but it certainly is OK and that's all I have to say about THAT. I wonder what I could be achieving if I stopped arsing about.

I was in a right old grump yesterday. Crappy day at work - running around being the chauffeur at lunch time, then just felt bored and dissatisfied in the evening. I have such a strange relationship with Thursday's - they're almost up there with Tuesdays for giving me the hump. Anyway, must dash as I've got yet another thrilling day at the coalface to get through before Friday night loveliness.

I too am craving ham and beans now!!! I have even put a gammon joint on my list this week for a proper bit ov aam (to be said in a proper Essex accent of course!) Ham and beans remind me of the sort of thing cowboys eat round a campfire in films!!! Anyone seen Blazing Saddles??? Great round-the-fire-fart scene...Sorry I have gone off on a tangent.....

Have a lovely weekend xx

Sounds like a lovely day today! I loveeeeee smashbox, could spend my entire wage with them I reckon! Hope you're having a lovely evening with your duck curry and potentially a little more vino?!

Great news on the loss! Your minor mid-week meltdown obviously did not set you back too far - good times! I knew you'd do it :)

Thank you sweetpea!

Yesterday - Extra Easy

Brunch - Browns restaurant. Fish cakes with salad. The salad was really oily so I left it but I just do not understand why they do this! It's stupid! No idea of the syn value!

image-2071467875.jpg

Dinner - Thai red curry with duck and sugar snap peas (B plus 6) with sticky jasmine rice

Hmmm is the Thai curry your own recipe Sally? Sounds and looks fabulous!

It was pretty meh actually..I split the coconut milk and I just really think that the reduced fat one is never going to give you that oomph. I adapted it from a hairy bikers one BBC - Food - Recipes : Thai-style roast duck curry but I used light coconut milk (4.5 syns per person), and cut back a bit on the oil in the paste - only used 2 tbsps. Didn't use the sugar, couldn't get the shrimp paste, didn't use the pineapple. Bleugh. Didn't bother with all the faffing about with duck legs and just fried off breast strips in 1 tbsp oil and removed from the pan before getting involved in the rest of the recipe.

Er...yeah, it sounds like I just totally made it up as I went along - no wonder it was a bit meh. The rest of the family loved it though.
